A new instrument will commence on 5 Sep 2026 suspending the Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)/BSB80120 course registered by VET providers.

during the suspension, affected providers can no longer recruit or commence new international students into the course.

Students who have already commenced the course can generally continue studying and complete it with the current provider. Where the suspension or cancellation results in provider default, existing protections under the Tuition Protection Service will continue to apply.

The Department has updated its website to include processing information for each individual skilled visa. The Department has advised that this information may be more accurate than the global processing times page, as the global page only shows a general timeframe and does not break this down by the priority categories under Ministerial Direction 119, or account for the prioritisation of onshore applications over offshore applications. The individual visa pages instead show the lodgement date of applications currently being allocated for processing, based on these priority categories. The Australian is reporting that the government is preparing further immigration changes, including possible restrictions affecting international students and some onshore applications. These measures have not all been officially announced yet.
