For some families, Mother’s Day is a day of celebration. For others, it can bring distance, uncertainty or difficult emotions into sharper focus.

After separation, days like this can feel different. The usual routines may have changed. The children may be somewhere else. Communication may feel harder than it used to. What once felt simple can suddenly carry sadness, pressure, reflection or a sense of loss.

If this year felt different, you are not alone. Family circumstances can change how important days feel, and it is okay for the day to hold more than one emotion.

Support, clarity and calm guidance can make a difficult season feel less overwhelming.

Be heard. Get clear advice. Move forward with confidence. Call 1300 111 835.

Estate planning is often treated as something to “get around to” — but in reality, it’s one of the most important legal steps you can take to protect your future and your family.

A proper estate plan is not just a Will. It should clearly address:
• Who controls your assets if you lose capacity
• How your estate is distributed and on what terms
• Who makes medical and financial decisions on your behalf
• How to reduce the risk of disputes or challenges

Without the right structures in place, your estate may be left to rigid legal rules, unnecessary delays, and potential conflict between loved ones.

You’re never too young to gain confidence in where you stand and how you’re protected.

The goal isn’t just to have documents signed — it’s to create certainty, minimise risk, and ensure your intentions are carried out properly.

If you’re unsure whether your current plan actually protects you, it’s worth having that conversation early.

Clear planning now can prevent significant legal and financial consequences later.

We’re back tomorrow morning to address your legal concerns — but for now, we’ll let Betty take the lead.

Introducing our “Know Your Rights” series.
First up: Property Settlement Edition — because understanding your position is the first step toward making confident decisions.
Property settlement isn’t just about dividing assets. It’s about knowing:
• what you’re entitled to
• how the process works
• and what outcomes are realistic in your circumstances
When you have clarity, you’re in a stronger position to negotiate, plan, and move forward with confidence.
Follow along as we break it down step by step — in plain English, without the overwhelm. # TheFamilyLawyer
