📢 Important Update for Migration Agents & Parent Visa Applicants
Big changes are coming to the Australian Parent Visa application process! 🇦🇺 Starting 22 April 2026, the Department of Home Affairs is transitioning four key permanent Parent visa subclasses to online lodgement via ImmiAccount.

📲 What’s changing?
Applications for the following subclasses must be submitted online:

143 – Contributory Parent Visa

864 – Contributory Aged Parent Visa

103 – Parent Visa

804 – Aged Parent Visa

💡 Pro-Tip for Applicants
If you are currently preparing a paper application, you may want to hold off until 22 April to take advantage of the digital benefits from day one. Paper applications will only be accepted in exceptional technical circumstances moving forward.

🚨 IMPORTANT VISA UPDATE – 26 March 2026🚨

Australia has introduced a new Arrival Control Determination under the Migration Amendment (2026 Measures No. 1) Act 2026, effective 26 March 2026 for 6 months.

⚠️ WHO IS AFFECTED?
Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) holders who:
• Are outside Australia on 26 March 2026
• Applied using an Iranian passport

👉 Their visa will temporarily cease to be in effect, unless an exemption applies.

❗ No refunds will be provided unless eligible under specific criteria (Reg 2.12F).

✅ EXEMPTIONS INCLUDE:
• Spouse / de facto partner / dependent child of an Australian citizen or PR
• Parent of a child under 18 in Australia
• Individuals already in Australia when the determination commenced
• Holders of a valid Permitted Travel Certificate (PTC)

📄 PERMITTED TRAVEL CERTIFICATE (PTC)
Issued on a case-by-case basis in limited circumstances, such as:
• Parent of an Australian citizen
• Genuine temporary visitors

⚠️ Evidence must be provided before travelling.

The Department of Home Affairs has updated policy guidance for applicants completing multiple courses to meet the Subclass 485 visa requirement.

Important Update: Subclass 407 Training Visa Rules

From 11 March 2026, new requirements apply when lodging a Subclass 407 Training Visa application in Australia.

Under the updated regulations:

✔ The sponsor must be an approved Temporary Activities Sponsor
✔ The training nomination must be approved
✔ The visa application must identify the approved nomination

📌 Key change:
The nomination must now be approved before the visa application is lodged.

📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE – Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485) Visa Fee Increase

From 1 March 2026, the Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) application fee has increased from AUD $2,300 to AUD $4,600.

This applies to:
✔️ Post-Vocational Education Work Stream
✔️ Post-Higher Education Work Stream

💰 New application charges:
• Main applicant: AUD 4,600
• Additional applicant (18+): AUD 2,300
• Additional applicant (under 18): AUD 1,160

⚠️ This increase does not apply to eligible Pacific Island and Timor-Leste passport holders. Lower visa charges will continue for eligible applicants.
