There is no single timeline or pathway into law – and Amanda Acutt’s story is a powerful reminder of that.

Blind since birth, Amanda spent more than a decade working in research and legislative policy before completing PLT at Leo Cussen and being admitted to the legal profession in Queensland just over a month ago ⚖️

For law graduates and career changers alike, Amanda’s journey is a reminder that it’s never too late to pursue a legal career and that the experiences you gain along the way can shape the kind of lawyer you become.

It was fantastic to see so many law grads and legal professionals come together yesterday evening at the Swinburne Law Students' Society - SLSS Meet the Professionals Expo 2026, hosted at Leo Cussen.

It was great to see students connecting with legal professionals, asking questions and exploring different pathways into practice.
