AALA x GLSA Mock Interviews

Want to practice your interview skills before your clerkship or graduate position? Want to talk to practising lawyers about how you can turn your interviews into an offer?

The GLSA, in partnership with the Asian Australian Lawyers Association (AALA), is excited to announce that we will be hosting Mock Interviews. This is a great opportunity for you to hone your interview skills and gain constructive feedback on your performance and written application.

These interviews will take place on Zoom and will be run by experienced legal professionals from the AALA. You will also be expected to have a prepared CV and Cover Letter.

Spots are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis!

2026 GLSA ‘Night with HR’

We are thrilled to have successfully hosted our flagship event, ‘Night with HR’, last Wednesday. This event was designed for law students to gain direct insights into what recruiters look for, learn practical ways to strengthen clerkship applications, and connect with HR representatives.

Whether students were putting the final touches on their clerkship applications or simply curious about the recruitment process, it was a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from the people behind the scenes.

A big thank you to Natalie Mascarenhas and Oliver Summers for your time, insights, and practical advice. Your expertise and genuine support have been invaluable for the future lawyers wanting to enter the profession.

We would also like to extend a big thank you to our Events & Engagement Directors Nityaa Khaire, Thomas Beaudry and Ha Minh Nguyen, and their dedicated team of co-opts in organising and preparing this event.

Back for its 6th year, the Bakers' Dozen series is now LIVE - check out the full series below!

The live sessions will be run by Zoom and all students of all year levels are welcome to attend. Students do not have to attend them all - attend as many or as few as you wish!

In addition to the usual live sessions, this year, there is a 'top tips' video and a competition with amazing prizes - more info coming soon!

And due to popular demand - there is a Partner Q&A where students will hear from two of Baker McKenzie Partners!

There are also two sessions on clerkship application tips - to support students across different states and to give more opportunities to have your questions answered (based on student feedback).

Plus, there are the usual sessions to support students during the full clerkship recruitment process, and sessions to support you learn more about the firm (from global opportunities, to Pro Bono, to ID&E, to our practice groups and more)... all with an incredible Bakers team and some special guests from Prosple and the Law Institute of Victoria/LIV Emerging Lawyers
