We are under attack by fake reviewers, and Facebook does nothing about it.

The clues they are all fake is that all the reviews are from Indian sounding names which we have never worked with.
Most of the reviews use the same text, you will see it repeat every 3 or 4 reviews.
None of the reviewers respond to our responses. If their complaints had any basis they would be interested in engaging with us.

At best they are trying to review a new company in Dubai who copied our name. https://www.facebook.com/p/Stellar-Migration-61566049722686/

Well, here it is, the major changes to the 482 and 186 visa.

"On 3 December 2024, the Australian Government announced the release of the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).

The new CSOL fulfils the Government’s commitment to replace complex, out of date and inflexible occupation lists in our temporary skilled visa program. The CSOL is a single consolidated list, informed by labour market analysis and stakeholder consultations by Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) that provides access to temporary skilled migration for 456 occupations.

The CSOL will apply to the Core Skills stream of the new Skills in Demand visa, which will replace the Temporary Skill Shortage (subclass 482) visa on 7 December 2024. The CSOL will also apply to the Direct Entry stream of the permanent Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visa."

The 25th of November 2023, may, or may not, be the day when all occupations (STSOL and MLTSSL) get a path to PR through the 186 visa in the TRT stream.
I say this because this was announced in May, and it's still not happened yet, so don't hold your breath!

Sometimes it's too funny/tragic not to share. South Australia wants engineers, but they aren't exactly lowering the bar for them, or offering much in return!!

To manage South Australia’s COVID recovery response, an additional 24 Engineering occupations will be open to applicants currently residing offshore from Tuesday 2 November 2021.

The minimum requirements for state nomination for these occupations include:

You must have at least eight years work experience in the nominated or closely related occupation

You must demonstrate a Superior English level, unless you hold an eligible passport from a country where the primary language is English (the United Kingdom, the United States of America, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada)

You must score at least 85 points for the Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491) in the Department of Home Affairs' points test.

PMSOL, it's all the rage!! Nomination to transfer an employee on PMSOL to a new employer approved in 4 days. More erudite post to follow, but for now it's all about COVID and these key occupations...

This list identifies occupations which fill critical skills needs that support Australia’s economic recovery from COVID-19 based on expert advice from the National Skills Commission and consultation with Commonwealth departments

Some of the states are opening for limited state sponsorship, but the rules & competition looks pretty tough.

For example, South Australia are "preferring" applicants with 90 points. Used to be the case that those with 90 points wouldn't even consider using state sponsorship, but it's getting more & more competitive.

For now we remain of the opinion that it's a passive long shot, which shouldn't be relied upon as the sole pathway, unless you are an exceptional candidate, or prepared to move to one of the regions for what may be a long time.

State Sponsorship & other info.
We note the state sponsorship remains suspended/closed, or more eloquently put by our industry body MIA:

"The State and Territories nomination program will remain temporarily CLOSED until the Commonwealth Government allocates state nomination places for 2020-21. State & Territory governments therefore have no ability to nominate applicants in visa subclass 190 & visa subclass 491."

So, until the government allocates them places, there will be no nominations by the states for either the 190 or 491 visa.

Our clients are asking when it will reopen, it's the million dollar questions, and the reality is there's no answers, but as soon as we hear something we will post it.

One clue may be the postponed federal budget which has been deferred until 4 October 2020.

Meanwhile SA says they may reopen for invitations in August, so that's another watch & see, maybe they know something everyone else doesn't!

Right now your guess is as good as anyone's!

It was a good week for our clients last week, we got two of our clients their Permanent Residence in Australia, and we got one of our clients their Citizenship after a much delayed wait for their ceremony (they had one of the new funky online ceremonies)! :)

Not good news for those wanting the 189 (independent skilled migration).

A Freedom of Information request from an agent to the department has revealed a shocking drop in the numbers of people who applied (which means, the number of people who were invited, and then applied), going from 30,000 last year, to just under 3,000 this year.

And no, it's nothing to do with corona virus, and everything to do with politics.

It's all the more interesting when you consider that the points required for this visa was 60 2 years ago, 65 1 year ago, but apparently now due to "demand" you need 95-105 points. Seems like it has less to do with the number of applicants in the queue, and more to do with the lack of invitations.

In theory it marks the shift from the 189 as the visa of choice, to the state sponsored visas (190, 491), in part so federal government can blame state government for any perceived unhappiness with the numbers of migrants. It's shifting the responsibility and blame to them.

We have long argued that if you want PR in Australia, while skilled migration should be pursued if you qualify for it, it's a largely passive approach which should be combined with other strategies, if you want PR you need to be more pro-active.

Thanks to Peter Bollard and D Lee for requesting and sharing the data with everyone.

We finally have answers for temporary visa holders.

The Government is making a number of changes to temporary visa holder arrangements during the coronavirus crisis in order to protect the health and livelihoods of Australians, support critical industries, and assist with the rapid recovery post the virus.
