The MVP Ventures Program by Investment NSW supports startups and innovative SMEs in the product lifecycle between early-stage research and mature investment opportunities, offering grants to drive the commercialisation of highly innovative new products.

EM Energy has just secured $50,000 through this program! This Newcastle-based startup aims to revolutionise hydrogen production with its innovative Organic Hydrogen Electrolyser Cell (OHEC), converting organic waste into green hydrogen without energy or heat. 🌿⚡️

Applications for the 2024/25 MVP Ventures Program are now open:

- Grant amount: From $25,000 to $50,000
- Round 2 applications open: 1 July 2024
- Round 2 applications close: 5pm AEDT, Friday 28 February 2025
- Key eligibility: Headquartered in NSW, and holding intellectual property (IP) or rights to commercialise.

🚀 Exciting Trend from the 2024 IP Australia Report! 🚀

The recently released report highlights the remarkable resilience and innovation of Australian companies amidst global economic challenges. Here are some key takeaways:

📈 Trademark Boom: Australian trademark applications surged by 9.8%, approaching record levels. Globally, trademark applications grew by 7.2%, reaching a total of 84,476, showcasing a wave of new products and services.

🎨 Design Rights Surge: Design rights filings hit a record high of 8,776, marking an impressive 11.5% increase. The strongest growth was seen in energy equipment, including electric motors, generators, batteries, and solar panels.

🔬 Patent Trends: Domestic patent filings rose by 2.4%. While there was a slight dip in overall patent filings due to fewer US submissions, Australia emerged as the second fastest-growing destination for new clean energy patents.
