Don’t risk getting stranded overseas.
If you're a permanent resident and you travel without a valid travel facility, or it expires while you are overseas, you will be denied entry back into Australia and could face significant delays.
If your travel facility has expired, you must apply for and be granted a Resident Return visa before returning to Australia.
This process can take time and visa application charges apply, which you should factor into your travel plans and costs.
If eligible, consider applying for Australian citizenship and make an ongoing commitment to Australia. As an Australian citizen, you will be able to return freely using an Australian passport.
