Victorian Bar Student Engagement Committee

The Victorian Bar Student Engagement Committee (SEC) was formed in 2010 with the objective of ‘demystifying’ the Bar by providing tertiary students with a better understanding of the work of the Bar, and of the pathways to becoming a barrister. The SEC does this primarily by arranging barristers to speak to students at Victorian universities and secondary schools, and by facilitating shadowing opportunities for tertiary level students. Details of the shadowing Program run by the SEC are set out here, including details how to apply for the 2020 Program. Please note that we are no longer accepting the applications of high school students.
