10 years of Domantay Legal ✨

I’ve always been an entrepreneur with a simple passion: helping people and businesses solve real problems and stay protected.

In September 2016 that passion became a firm. I opened Domantay Legal as a sole practitioner — laptop, phone, and a brief to look after clients properly. I didn’t imagine then that trust would turn a one-person practice into a team across Melbourne, Geelong, Brisbane and China.

To every client who put their home, business, family or future in our hands — thank you 🙏. That trust is the only reason this firm exists. You let us into some of the hardest and most hopeful moments of your lives. We have never taken that lightly.

To every staff member past and present — lawyers, conveyancers, operations, admin, and everyone who carried the load when I could not — thank you 🙌. The firm’s character lives in how you treat people when no one is watching.

To the mentors who told me the truth when it was inconvenient: thank you. Growth is rarely a straight line. Your counsel kept the compass pointing the right way. Dwayne Marinucci thank you for being part of this journey for most of DL's existence, how much fun it has been and continues to be, is due to our aligned values and principals!

Starting the practice also opened doors I could not have planned on day one: a New York–based business in ShiftSixOS, an office in Manila, and an eye toward a more tax-friendly jurisdiction in the near future 🌎. Those opportunities exist because clients first trusted a sole practitioner in Melbourne. I do not forget that order.

And to my wife and family - I am thankful most of all❤️. You absorbed the late nights, the risk, the quiet weeks and the chaotic ones. You made room for a business that often asked more than it gave back. I am blessed beyond what I can put in a post.

Ten years in, I remain a business owner, leader and entrepreneur who happens to practise law — not the other way around 🚀⚖️. The work remains the same as day one: solve the problem, prevent the next one, and leave the client better than we found them.

Celebrating 8 years since the doors of Domantay Legal first opened, I reflect on our modest beginnings and the journey that has brought us here. I am filled with immense gratitude for the opportunities and blessings that have come our way. What began as a humble vision as a sole practitioner, has unfolded with a momentum that feels like warp speed, transforming the dream into a thriving reality.

As the Founder, Principal Lawyer, and Managing Director, it has been a privilege to wear many hats, guiding businesses of all sizes towards success through proactive problem-solving and prevention. Every day, I am thankful for the chance to pursue my passion and make a meaningful impact.

Our integration with Peter Falconer & Associates, SMD Lawyers (QLD), and Town Hall Conveyancing marks a significant milestone, expanding our reach to Geelong, the Western region of Victoria, and Queensland. This growth enhances our ability to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to a broader community, a testament to our teams commitment and dedication.

In addition to my role at Domantay Legal, co-founding and chairing ShiftSixOS in New York has allowed me to empower small law firms and tech companies, helping them scale and compete by linking them with top-tier talent at a fraction of the cost. We are excited to continue this journey and support businesses in their growth.

At Domantay Legal, we have fostered strong relationships with SMEs, the community, and the legal industry, experts in property and business law while offering a wide range of services such as family law, estate planning, disputes, litigation, and immigration law. Our tailored approach ensures we meet the diverse needs of our clients. We are love our clients and thank them immensely for their trust in us.

As our team continues to grow, we are fortunate to have my brother from another mother and our General Manager, Dwayne Marinucci insights drive practical, solution-focused outcomes.

Today we spent some quality time bonding as a team... escape rooms at Adventure Rooms Australia!

We are extremely excited and filled with pride to witness the grand opening of another remarkable health and fitness space (a very large one at that) by D247. Previously, we confidently declared as the finest gym in Australia, and indeed it held that title until the new emerged!

What an achievement! We extend our heartfelt congratulations to and the entire team at for successfully launching their 27th gym. The range of amenities is simply astounding, featuring luxurious plunge pools, invigorating reformer pilates, a basketball court, and state-of-the-art gym equipment. Exceptional job, well done!

A fantastic day of team building and a well-deserved break from the demands of legal practice! Escape rooms can be a fun and engaging way to promote teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills among colleagues. It's great to hear that one team excelled and managed to escape in record time, while the other team, even if they struggled, still had a memorable experience filled with laughter.

Domantay Legal Celebrates 7 Years of Business Existence!

Today marks a significant milestone for Domantay Legal as we proudly celebrate 7 years since our establishment. From humble beginnings as a sole practitioner operating out of a spare desk in our Founder's Jan Domantay 's accountants office, we have come a long way and feel incredibly blessed.

We owe a debt of gratitude to many individuals who have supported us throughout this journey. First and foremost, I am immensely thankful for the unwavering support of my wife, who has been a pillar of strength. I am also grateful to my family for their continuous encouragement and backing. Additionally, I am fortunate to have a business partner who is not only a close friend but also feels like a brother.

None of our achievements would have been possible without the dedication and expertise of our exceptional team. They are truly the best in the world, and I am grateful for their hard work and commitment.

As we reflect on the past seven years, we are reminded of the challenging nature of the legal industry. With statistics showing that 60% of Australian businesses fail within the first 3 years, reaching this milestone and maintaining our passion for growth indicates that we are on the right path to something extraordinary.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the future. With multiple law firms across various states, a New York City office focused on assisting law firms and legal-tech, and a Manila office supporting businesses in Australia and the USA, our schedule is filled with promising opportunities.

Finally, we express our heartfelt gratitude to the divine for the blessings we have received. We are honored to be able to do what we love – helping people and businesses navigate a variety of legal situations.
