According to reports in The Australian, the Albanese Government is considering tougher student visa measures, potentially including:

⚠️ Restrictions on onshore student visa applications
⚠️ Limits affecting family members of international students
⚠️ Tougher rules around changing university courses
⚠️ Restrictions on moving from higher education to VET courses
⚠️ Changes could reportedly be brought forward as early as September

Queensland has officially closed its 2024–25 Skilled State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) as of May 27, 2025.

🛑 ROIs for onshore, graduates, offshore, and regional small business owners are now closed.

✅ Subclass 888 business visa ROIs remain open.
