Has your immigration representative ceased operations?

If you have a visa application, sponsorship matter, Labour Agreement, ART review, or other immigration matter in progress, it is important to act quickly.

For employers, this may also impact sponsored workers, pending nominations, sponsorship obligations, and workforce planning initiatives.

At Absolute Immigration Group, we have been supporting individuals, families, HR teams, and businesses with immigration advice and services for more than 25 years.

Whether you need assistance with an existing visa application, an employer-sponsored migration matter, sponsorship compliance, or a complex immigration issue, our team can help you understand your options and identify any urgent next steps.

We are currently offering a complimentary initial consultation to help affected individuals and employers:

𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟳: 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀

Australia’s 2026–27 Federal Budget has confirmed several migration and workforce measures expected to impact employers, skilled migrants, and businesses relying on overseas talent.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:
• Permanent Migration Program maintained at 185,000 places
• Continued prioritisation of skilled migration
• Greater focus on retaining onshore temporary migrants
• Proposed skilled migration points test reforms
• Faster skills assessments and licensing pathways
• Increased migration compliance and integrity measures
• Planned Working Holiday Maker program reforms
• Additional funding for migrant worker protections and support programs

Despite continued efforts to reduce net overseas migration, many industries across Australia are still experiencing significant workforce shortages. Skilled migrants remain critical to supporting healthcare, construction, infrastructure, engineering, hospitality, agriculture, and technology sectors.

The Budget also includes major investment into faster skills recognition processes for trades workers, which may help businesses facing ongoing workforce shortages.

Employers relying on overseas talent should continue monitoring these developments closely as further policy detail becomes available.

Australian authorities continue to intensify their enforcement against migrant worker exploitation, a persistent issue affecting vulnerable workers across multiple industries. Exploitation often arises where migration obligations are not actively managed, creating environments where unlawful labour practices, coercion and misuse of visa arrangements can occur.

A recent coordinated operation in Far North Queensland, highlights the seriousness of these risks. The operation targeted immigration non-compliance, unlawful labour practices and organised networks profiting from vulnerable workers.

The operation resulted in multiple detentions and exposed unlawful migration assistance, visa misuse and illegal employment arrangements, reflecting broader risks across industries where migration obligations are not actively managed.

These practices highlight how exploitation can occur where visa conditions are not properly understood or where informal employment arrangements are used.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁:
• Visa breaches may lead to refusal, cancellation or removal from Australia
• Workers are protected under Australian law and can report exploitation, including anonymously
• Employers must verify work rights and ensure compliance with visa and workplace requirements
• Non-compliance may result in penalties, sponsorship restrictions and reputational damage

Australia’s enforcement approach continues to strengthen, with a clear focus on unlawful practices and system integrity.

At Absolute Immigration Group, ANZAC Day is a significant national occasion that honours the service and sacrifice of the ANZACs and all who have served 🕊️

It is a time of reflection and remembrance. A time to recognise courage, mateship, resilience, and selflessness as the values that have shaped Australia and continue to define its identity.

We honour those who served. We honour those who returned. We honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their legacy endures through every generation.

Across the country, communities come together in quiet reflection. In these moments, respect is shared, unity is strengthened, and remembrance is upheld 🌺

At Absolute Immigration Group, we stand in respect and remembrance, recognising the importance of these values in shaping the diverse and resilient nation we are proud to be part of.
