📢 【ADMISSIONS UPDATE】Curtin University: Updated PTE English Requirements for Nursing and Midwifery Courses! 🩺📋
Curtin University has released an update to its English Competency Equivalents Chart, specifically relating to PTE English scores effective from 26 August 2026.
📍 1. Affected Courses
This update applies to the following Nursing and Midwifery courses:
Bachelor of Science (Advanced Nursing) – comprehensive and conversion
Bachelor of Science (Midwifery)
Master of Nursing Practice
Master of Midwifery
📍 2. New PTE English Score Requirements (Effective 26 August 2026)
Students entering these courses require the following PTE Academic scores:
📊 Overall Score: 65
📖 Reading: 59
✍️ Writing: 69
🎧 Listening: 58
🗣️ Speaking: 76
📍 3. Key Assessment Policies & Scenarios
Admissions vs Registration: These are the English requirements Curtin Admissions will use when assessing applications and lifting English conditions for Nursing and Midwifery courses. ANMAC/AHPRA English requirements for professional registration remain separate from Curtin’s English admission requirements.
Test Sitting Policy: Regarding two test sittings, Curtin currently accepts IELTS One Skill Retake; however, Curtin does not accept combined PTE results across two test sittings.
Scenario A (Met requirements before 26 August 2026): Students will not be reassessed against the new PTE requirement and their admission remains valid.
Scenario B (Yet to have English condition assessed or lifted): The new PTE English scores will be applied when assessing whether the student meets the English requirement.
