Founder and Principal Solicitor of the practice, Rebecca Burdon is an experienced legal practitioner, having enjoyed a lengthy career at Victoria Legal Aid (VLA), where she frequently made appearances in all Victorian criminal law jurisdictions. Rebecca's experience in a wide-ranging criminal law practice saw her with conduct of hundreds of matters, advocating on behalf of her clients, some of which included driving offences, property and assault offences, breach intervention order, dishonesty and murder. A firm believer in access to justice, Rebecca is results-driven and will go the extra mile to ensure you get the best outcome in the circumstances.
Most recently, Rebecca was a Managing Lawyer at the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC), where she managed complex cases and prosecutions, supporting investigations into public sector corruption and police personnel misconduct. Rebecca appeared as counsel assisting the Commission in numerous coercive private examinations and supported high profile public examinations. Rebecca frequently appeared at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Supreme Court in applications for Telecommunication Intercept and Surveillance Device warrants and provided advice on other specialist investigative powers and tools supporting operational matters. After experiencing her own personal tragedy in 2017, Rebecca is a passionate advocate for victims of crime and understands how stressful the legal process can be. Being involved in the aftermath of a violent crime will change you, and often, lead to significant emotional distress or post-traumatic stress. We are trauma informed and compassionate lawyers. Having a lawyer by your side, with a lived experience on "both sides of the fence", assisting you during the court process is advantageous and reassuring.
