What is the Skills in Demand Visa (SID)?
SID visa replaced TSS visa on 7th December 2024. SID is an employer-sponsored visa, where an employer can sponsor overseas workers for up to four years. SID Visa maintains the same subclass 482.
This visa has three streams:
Specialist Skills Stream
Core Skills Stream
Labour Agreement Stream
This visa opens the clear permanent residency pathway to ENS Visa subclass 186.
Can work in Australia for up to four years
The holder can move between sponsors with 180 days to find a new sponsor.
There is no clock resetting with each employer regarding the ENS 186 TRT Stream.
All three streams have a clear PR Pathway
There is no age limit for applying for an SID Visa.
Specialist Skills Stream
Available to any occupation except trades workers, machinery operators and drivers, and labourers
Will need to have earnings of $135,000 a year
Processing time – only 7 days
Core Skills Stream
Most of the migrants come through this stream. If you want to apply for this stream, your occupation must be in the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).
Available for various occupations, including Chef, Nurse, Painter, Carpenter, etc.
Your occupation must be on the CSOL List.
Individual salary should be above the current TISMIT, currently at $73150 and will jump to $76515 from 1st July 2025.
Labour Agreement Stream
This stream is for skilled workers who employers nominate with a labour agreement such as DAMA. This stream allows the applicant to live and work in Australia temporarily.
Labour Agreements are established between the Employers and the Australian Government.
