We were truly honored to support the recent Zonta Says NO Charity Golf Day right here in Maryborough. It was inspiring to see our local community come together on the green to raise critical awareness and vital funds for such an important cause.

Being able to play a part in an event that makes such a meaningful, lasting impact in people’s lives is a privilege we do not take for granted. For generations, it has been a pillar of law in our region, serving as a reminder of the vital role that justice and tradition play in bringing stability to our community.

As we move further into the second half of the year, our office is starting to get progressively busier. Between now and December, cases are ramping up, mediations are being booked and complex legal matters are consuming large portions of our time. We are putting in longer hours to stay ahead of the workload and those longer daylight hours now approaching can’t come soon enough.

Our main priority is and always has been giving every client’s matter the care and detail it requires. This means our response times may be delayed by a few days during these busier periods. If you are waiting to hear back from us, please know we haven't forgotten you, we are simply taking the time needed to handle and prepare each case properly.

Despite entering what is often a relentlessly busy time of year, we truly appreciate the patience and ongoing support of our local community.

There’s no place like home...

This is especially so after an exceptionally busy week appearing in the Federal Circuit and Family Court in Brisbane. Navigating complex proceedings in the states capital on a regular basis is a vital and rewarding part of our practice. Despite this, nothing beats the feeling of leaving the concrete corridors behind and returning to the familiar, peaceful, heritage lined streets of our home base.

Stepping between Brisbane and Maryborough offers a lesson in Queensland’s early settlement history. While Brisbane’s origin began in 1824 as a harsh, isolated penal colony before eventually evolving into the government capital, Maryborough carved out a different but equally important path on its river banks. Established in 1847 as a wool port, Maryborough rapidly grew into one of Queensland’s primary industrial gateways and at one stage, was considered the second major immigration port of entry only after Sydney. In the early years, Maryborough played a foundational role in building the infrastructure and prosperity of the Sunshine State.

That rich historical tradition of being a regional hub continues today. Geographically and strategically, Maryborough remains a perfectly positioned base for our law practice. Operating from here allows us to seamlessly bridge the gap between the south east and central parts of Queensland.

We consider ourselves truly blessed to live, work and operate from such a historic and beautiful region.
