Congratulations to the winners of the Sunshine Coast National Art Prize 2026!

Argon Law and our VIP guests recently celebrated the winner's announcement alongside artists, supporters and members of our local arts community.

As a major sponsor of the Prize for more than eight years, we are passionate about supporting the arts on the Sunshine Coast and helping showcase the talent and stories being shared.

This year's $25,000 Major Prize was awarded to "We are still creating ourselves II" (2026), a powerful collaborative work by artists Michael Eather and the late Kumanjayi (Walala) Tjapaltjarri. The artwork reflects more than 25 years of creative collaboration, bringing together distinct cultural perspectives through pattern, colour and storytelling.

Probate or Letters of Administration?

When someone passes away, managing their estate often requires legal authority.

If there is a valid Will and an executor has been appointed, the executor will usually apply for Probate.

If there is no Will, or the appointed executor cannot act, an eligible person may need to apply for Letters of Administration instead.

The key difference? Both allow someone to administer an estate, but the process depends on whether a valid Will exists and who is authorised to act.
