Whaaaatt??? It’s February!!! 😱😱😱

So January was a bit of a rollercoaster but here we are in a brand new month.

Sooooo….I’ve decided to sprinkle Feb with some ‘gratitude’.

Life can be really, really hard as a business owner/Mum/wife/human right!? And trust me, when you’re in the thick of it, sometimes it’s completely okay to just- not be okay yeah?

But when you come up for air and take a breather, I encourage you to try and take a few seconds in your day to think of something you’re grateful for that day.

Even the basics- food, roof over your head, bed to sleep in.

We will be sprinkling a bit of gratitude throughout our socials over the next month too & would love you to join in also 💚

I often ask clients this during initial discussions.

Why?

I want to get to the heart of where people are at.

As lawyers, we tend to get caught up in the law, process etc. (understandably and for good reason!) but it is also SO important to listen to what client's are REALLY saying to you.

What is behind their actions? What are they worried about? What are their objectives and what are they REALLY trying to achieve.

Goals and interests - such an important part of the puzzle piece of divorce and separation.

It is also another reason why I love being a collaborative lawyer.

Humans aren't robots and their fears, thoughts, lived experience matters.

Asking this question also helps me advise them about the family law process in a way that is meaningful to them and importantly, resolution focused.
