Congratulations to our Senior Associate, Margot Hazard, who has been appointed an Independent Children Lawyer.
ICLs are specialist lawyers appointed by the Family Court to represent the interests of children and to assist the Court in resolving complex parenting cases. To become an ICL Margot undertook specialised training in Family Court parenting litigation and child psychology and age appropriate development.
With over 25 years of experience as a lawyer, Margot provides not only expert advice on parenting but clear and strategic advice on all aspects of family law including property and financial matters, child support, spousal maintenance and de facto relationships, as well as drafting and advice on financial agreements and asset protection.
Prior to specialising in Family Law, Margot worked in commercial litigation at a leading commercial firm with a focus on Insolvency and Bankruptcy matters. While a talented litigator, Margot has a strong interest in alternative dispute resolution and encourages a negotiated resolution where possible. She is committed to helping her clients resolve their disputes constructively and with minimal expense and delay. If you have any queries Margot is happy to have a free 10 minute consult to see if we can be of assistance, please call 9977 1133.

To all of our valued clients. Following the NSW Government restrictions from 5:00pm on Saturday, that residents in the Northern Beaches should stay home and not travel out of the area unless absolutely necessary, we will not be seeing clients in the office but will make arrangements with any clients who need to speak with us by phone or by Zoom meeting. Please note that our offices will close on Wednesday 23 December 2020 and reopen on Wednesday 13 January 2021.

A note about our phones. Some clients are experiencing an issue calling our number where the phone rings out without answer. Please be assured that it is not because our staff are not answering the phone. Unfortunately the phone is not ringing in our office. We have notified our telecommunications provider and they are trying to find and fix the problem. If the phone is working properly it will either be answered by one of our staff or diverted to voicemail if all of the lines are busy. If you call and the phone keeps ringing please hang up and call again because often the second call gets through. Or you can email us on [email protected] and we will call you back. If you do experience this problem, please let us know as we can report to our telco the time of the incident. We apologise to our clients for this inconvenience and we are working to fix the problem as quickly as we can.
