Our book is a positive, lighthearted look at the changes Covid brought to mediators around the world.

Collectively we draw together experience from the UK, Ireland, Norway, Africa, India, Taiwan, US, NZ, Australia, and Malaysia.

We share some of the funny stories that make us human in a vulnerable time, all the more interesting for being from such a diverse collection of mediators!

Proceeds from ‘Mediation Beyond Covid’ go to my favourite charity “Mediators Beyond Borders Oceania”(MBBO).

MBBO’s “mission is to promote the principles and practices of peaceful conflict management and resolution in Oceania regional communities. We will develop regional capacity and skills for peace; promote conflict management and resolution skills and processes; and share techniques of mediated, non-adversarial, collaborative, and dialogue-based conflict management and resolution in Oceania.”

I wanted to support Mediators Beyond Borders International, as they have been a long established peace-building network, they are about making a difference on the ground and really focus on practical peacemaking, education and empowering local peacemakers. Through them, I learnt about their local sister branch, MBBO.

MBBO is relatively new and have spent the last couple of years building internally to help them support those in need once borders have opened. Funding will be able to be used for things like - bringing Pacific Island mediators and Peace Builders together for a local forum, creating ‘baskets’ of information so that collective knowledge can be shared, and even training locals in mediator skills.
