You may know that our Director, Trent Petherick is a contributing to the book 'Mediation Beyond Covidâ. But did you know that proceeds from the book go to charity?
Mediators Beyond Borders Oceania (MBBO) "promote the principles and practices of peaceful conflict management and resolution in Oceania regional communities."

Proceeds from âMediation Beyond Covidâ go to my favourite charity âMediators Beyond Borders Oceaniaâ(MBBO).
MBBOâs âmission is to promote the principles and practices of peaceful conflict management and resolution in Oceania regional communities. We will develop regional capacity and skills for peace; promote conflict management and resolution skills and processes; and share techniques of mediated, non-adversarial, collaborative, and dialogue-based conflict management and resolution in Oceania.â
I wanted to support Mediators Beyond Borders International, as they have been a long established peace-building network, they are about making a difference on the ground and really focus on practical peacemaking, education and empowering local peacemakers. Through them, I learnt about their local sister branch, MBBO.
MBBO is relatively new and have spent the last couple of years building internally to help them support those in need once borders have opened. Funding will be able to be used for things like - bringing Pacific Island mediators and Peace Builders together for a local forum, creating âbasketsâ of information so that collective knowledge can be shared, and even training locals in mediator skills.
