Our Property Law Centre team hosted a staff morning tea today in support of the Mark Hughes Foundation’s beanie for Brain Cancer initiative sporting the latest beanie fashions. We remember our late colleague Steven Morgan who kicked off PLC’s enduring support for the beanie for Brain Cancer campaign through his own battle with the disease.

Following our system outage last week our Office Manager has been working with our IT people to try to recover lost emails but apparently some of those emails have now been confirmed as lost into the ether. If you sent an email to Kelly Legal or Property Law Centre particularly over Wednesday or Thursday last week (18 & 19 June) and haven’t had a reply you can phone our office on 49110500 to check if we received it or just re-send it. Also our phones are now working again including for our Brisbane office so if you were expecting a callback you can follow up on that as well. Thanks again for your patience and consideration.

🎉Congratulations Jack! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that our dedicated team member, Jack Hickson, has been admitted as a Lawyer to the Supreme Court of Queensland. Moving his admission was Director Sean Kelly, with whom Jack has worked closely with over the past six years whilst progressing his career and completing his studies externally through the Queensland University of Technology.

Jack’s journey with Kelly Legal began in 2017 when he moved from Canberra to Mackay to play for the Mackay Cutters Intrust Super Cup team and in 2020 transitioned to our Brisbane office after securing a contract with the Souths Logan Magpies Intrust Super Cup Team.

Throughout his employment, Jack has been an invaluable asset, assisting clients with commercial and rural conveyancing, litigation and property law matters including subdivisions, easements, and plan registrations. Whilst studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Jack has demonstrated an unwavering commitment and passion for commercial law practice with broad coverage across multiple areas of property law.

Beyond his legal pursuits, Jack has actively contributed to the community, delivering programs for schools, junior clubs, and the “Change the Game” mental health initiative during his time with the Mackay Cutters.
