Last week I had the opportunity to spend some time with the 1–4 year players at (Port Adelaide Football Club) running a property workshop.

For many young athletes, there can be a lot of noise around money, property and investing. My goal wasn’t to tell them what to buy, but to help them understand the opportunities available, the risks to be aware of, and the importance of having a plan.

We spent time discussing the Adelaide property market, building strong financial habits, and some of the practical steps they can take now to put themselves in a stronger position long after their playing careers are over.

I always enjoy these sessions because the questions are genuine, the engagement is high, and you can see the desire to learn.

A big thank you to the players for getting involved and contributing to the discussion. It was a privilege to spend time with you all and I look forward to catching up again down the track.
