Welcome to the Goodstart Kingaroy family! This page is a family-friendly community page where we can come together and share our interest in, and passion for, early childhood learning and care. While we are very excited to hear from you, please be aware that we reserve the right to moderate this page as we see fit and remove any posts or materials that we deem inap

propriate or not beneficial to the wider community. This includes but is not limited to posts that are:

• Abusive, defamatory, or obscene language
• Fraudulent, deceptive or misleading
• In violation of any intellectual property right of another
• In violation of any law or regulation

Any reference or claim against staff or children will be removed to protect the privacy of those involved. We planted something special in our centre — a tree that represents so much more than new growth.

Planted together by our educators and children when our centre reopened after the renovation works were completed, this tree is a symbol of the roots we have established within our community and the relationships that continue to grow with every child and family who walks through our doors.

We are proud to be more than a place for children to learn and play. We strive to be a pillar within our local community, building genuine connections with families, supporting children as they grow and creating a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

As this tree grows alongside our children, we hope it will serve as a lasting reminder of the community we have built together — and the many more families, friendships and memories still to come.

Preparing children for school is about so much more than learning numbers and letters.

It’s about building the confidence, curiosity and resilience they need to navigate new experiences, overcome challenges and keep trying when things don’t go to plan.

Resilience is a skill that grows over time, helping children bounce back, adapt and approach challenges with confidence. It’s something they can carry with them from their early learning years into primary school, secondary school and beyond.

Our programs support children to:
🍎Have a go – taking safe risks, trying new things and having another go when something feels tricky.
🍎Think critically – asking questions, exploring ideas and developing problem-solving skills.
🍎Be active learners – using their senses, staying curious and engaging in hands-on experiences.
🍎Use imagination and creativity – expressing ideas, exploring possibilities and finding new ways to approach challenges.
🍎Learn in depth – practising skills, reflecting on experiences and building on what they already know.

By nurturing these characteristics of effective learning, we help children develop persistence, confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a very special feeling at our centre as we’ve welcomed our children and families back through the doors.

After nearly two months away, we knew returning to the centre would be a big moment for our children. What has been so wonderful to see is just how confidently many of our children have settled back into their familiar environments, routines and relationships.

Our key educator relationships have played such an important role in this transition. The strong connections our educators have built with children over time have proven to be deeply embedded, providing children with a familiar and trusted face to reconnect with as they returned.

From excited smiles and big hugs to getting straight back into play, learning and friendships, it has been wonderful to see our centre community coming back together.

There may have been changes to the space while we were away, but the most important part remained the same — the relationships, connections and sense of belonging that make our centre feel like home.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Building early literacy starts long before the first word 🧠

Did you know that your baby communicates with you through 'serve and return' interactions? A smile, a kick of the legs, or a focused stare all mean something.

Discover simple ways you can support their language development at home:
🍎 Narrate their world – talk through daily routines like bath time to help them understand their environment.
🍎 The power of peek-a-boo – this simple game teaches 'object permanence' and social cues.
🍎 Rhythms and rhymes – classics like 'This Little Piggy' build listening skills and storytelling through anticipation.

At Goodstart, we support babies' literacy in-centre via evidence-informed, play-based nursery early learning programs. Our educators follow your child's lead to build the critical foundations for communication and connection.

As we prepare to welcome our children and families back to Goodstart Kingaroy, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible teams at Goodstart Gympie, Goodstart Jones Hill, Goodstart Dalby and Goodstart Highfields.

During our temporary closure, you welcomed our educators with open arms, made them feel part of your teams and provided unwavering support every step of the way. Your kindness, generosity and willingness to share your knowledge and workplaces meant more to us than words can express.

Although our educators are excited to be returning home, they leave with wonderful memories, new friendships and experiences that will stay with them for years to come.

Thank you for showing what it truly means to be part of the Goodstart family. We are so grateful for your support and will always appreciate the care you showed our team during this time.

It's wonderful to have our team back together and filling the centre with smiles, laughter and excitement once again.

This week we have been hard at work preparing for our reopening. From unpacking resources and assembling new shelving to putting the finishing touches on our learning environments, every task is bringing us one step closer to welcoming our children and families back through our doors.

We look forward to re-opening and supporting families and children again.

What a spectacular sunrise yesterday on my final day of travel. 🌅
With our centre temporarily closed for renovations, I've had the wonderful opportunity to spend the past few weeks working alongside the incredible team at Goodstart Jones Hill

What an amazing experience this journey has been. I've learnt so much, grown both personally and professionally, met some incredible educators, and made some wonderful new friends along the way.

While I won't miss the long drives, I will certainly miss the team I've had the privilege of working with. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and for sharing your knowledge, kindness and support.

Now it's time to head back to my own centre. I'm excited to reconnect with our team and welcome our children and families back when we reopen. I'm feeling so grateful for the memories, the learning and everything this experience has given me.
