Debate here on removal of CGT discounts and negative gearing on investments. This will impact supply of rental properties in future and the ability of renters to save for a deposit.
With cost of living so high, the 5% deposit scheme doesn’t benefit all potential first home buyers. Serviceability of the debt after buying is a major challenge and responsible prospective buyers factor in the rising interest rate environment when making property decisions.
Also, how can we trust that the government will constructively apply additional revenue to housing supply?
