Proud to be a Sponsor and Vice President of the Queensland Chinese Affairs Committee (QCAC).

Chai Hoe, Principal Lawyer of Harmony Legal & Associates, is deeply honoured that Harmony Legal & Associates is an inaugural sponsor of the Queensland Chinese Affairs Committee (QCAC) and that she has been elected as one of its Vice Presidents.

QCAC is a newly established organisation dedicated to strengthening communication between the Chinese community and the Australian Federal, Queensland State and Local Governments. It also promotes multicultural engagement, fosters collaboration between community associations and businesses, and advocates for the interests of the broader Chinese community.

With 42 member associations (including four corporate members) already registered and more than 200 guests attending the inaugural gala at Tattersall's Club, this marks an exciting milestone for the Queensland Chinese community.

Congratulations to the President, Executive Committee, and all member organisations on the successful establishment of QCAC. Chai Hoe looks forward to serving alongside fellow committee members to help build stronger connections between government, businesses, community organisations, and the wider multicultural community.

Harmony Legal & Associates 家和律師事務所 was honoured to once again sponsor a table at the Sunnybank RSL Sub-Branch Australians of Chinese Heritage War Memorial Committee (ACHWMC) Annual Rededication & Fundraising Dinner.

As a firm, we believe that supporting our community extends beyond providing legal services. We are proud to continue contributing to initiatives such as veterans' remembrance, community programs, and bursaries that support future generations.

特別感謝 ATCCQ 澳洲昆士蘭台灣商會 的邀請，讓我们有機會和大家分享有關【遺囑】與【遺產規劃】的重要知識。

我们一直以來都非常提倡舉辦這類普法公益講座。因為作為主要處理訴訟及糾紛解決的律師团队，很多客戶來找我們的時候，其實事情往往已經發生了。作為律師，我們當然會盡最大的努力去補救、協助解決法律問題，但很多時候，預防其實比補救更重要（Prevention is better than cure）。

所以，我们希望透過這些分享，讓大家有更多機會認識及了解基本的法律知識，並且用比較白話、簡單易懂的方式，告訴大家一些需要注意的重要法律事項。

我們家和律師事務所的團隊一直都非常忙碌，也非常感謝大家一直以來的支持。雖然工作很多，但我仍然希望可以繼續推動這類普法教育，讓更多人有機會提早做好規劃。

其實重點很簡單：

第一，每個人都應該有自己的授權書（Power of Attorney）。
因為人生中可能會遇到年老失智、植物人狀態、意外事故等情況。當自己失去處理事情能力的時候，授權書就會變得非常重要。

第二，每個人都應該立遺囑（Will）。
當一個人離世後，遺囑可以清楚說明自己的遺產如何分配、由誰執行，避免家人之間產生不必要的爭議。

第三，Super（退休金）方面，一定要做好提名（Nomination）。
很多人忽略了這一點，但其實這是非常重要的。

這些文件，其實可以
1。自己處理、
2。找我們家和律師事務所處理、或者
3。找其他律師事務所處理，
都可以。

最重要的是，希望大家能夠有這方面的認知，並且願意提早規劃。

A special thank you to ATCCQ – Australia Taiwan Chamber of Commerce Queensland for the invitation and for giving us the opportunity to share important knowledge about Wills and Estate Planning.

Our team has always strongly supported community legal education through these types of public seminars. As lawyers who mainly handle litigation and dispute resolution matters, many clients only come to us after problems have already happened. Of course, as lawyers, we will always do our best to assist, minimise damage, and resolve legal issues. However, in many situations, prevention is better than cure.

Through these sessions, we hope more people can gain a better understanding of basic legal knowledge in a simple and easy-to-understand way, while also becoming aware of important legal matters that should not be overlooked.

Our team at Harmony Legal & Associates has been extremely busy, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s ongoing support. Despite our workload, we still hope to continue promoting legal awareness and education, so that more people can plan ahead and avoid unnecessary future disputes and stress.

The key points are actually very simple:

First, everyone should have a Power of Attorney.
In life, situations such as dementia, loss of capacity, serious illness, accidents, or medical emergencies may arise. If someone loses the ability to make decisions for themselves, a Power of Attorney becomes extremely important.

Second, everyone should have a Will.
When a person passes away, a Will clearly sets out how their estate should be distributed and who will administer the estate, helping to reduce unnecessary disputes among family members.

Third, for Superannuation, it is important to make a proper nomination.
Many people overlook this, but it is actually a very important part of estate planning.

These documents can be:

1. Prepared by yourself;
2. Prepared through our team at Harmony Legal & Associates; or
3. Prepared through another law firm.

All options are perfectly fine.

The most important thing is that people are aware of the importance of these matters and are willing to plan ahead.

If you would like to prepare these documents through Harmony Legal & Associates, our current promotional rates are:

Simple Will:
• AUD$495 including GST (for clients aged 55 and above)
• AUD$605 including GST (for clients under 55)

Power of Attorney:
• AUD$330 including GST (for clients aged 55 and above)
• AUD$440 including GST (for clients under 55)

These promotional rates are valid until 30 June 2026.

Of course, you are also welcome to engage another lawyer, prepare your own documents, or use any other suitable option. The most important thing is simply to ensure that these matters are properly considered and planned for in advance.

With proper planning, many problems can be avoided.

Proud to support our community 💜

Harmony Legal & Associates was honoured to sponsor the International Women’s Day community event organised by the Australian Asian Women’s Organisation (AAWO). It was a meaningful morning celebrating women, community leadership and giving back.

Despite the rainy weather, the event was a great success and we were delighted to see so many community members, leaders and supporters coming together.

The event was attended by distinguished guests including Federal MP Julie-Ann Campbell, State MP James Martin (Member for Stretton), a representative of Corinne McMillan MP (Member for Mansfield), Cr Steven Huang (Councillor for Macgregor), and the Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner.

Through the charity auction, $1,500 was raised and will be donated to two important charities:
❤️ Chinese War Memorial Bursary
❤️ Ronald McDonald House Charities
