Tuesday morning saw a group of our lawyers attend the Women in law breakfast, organised by the Tasmanian University Law Society and co hosted by our very own Aimee Stacey , a second year law student working in our Agency area.

The keynote speaker was former Governor of Tasmania and Emeritus Professor of Law at the University of Tasmania, Kate Warner. Professor Warner informed and entertained the guests with the story of her journey in the law and as Governor.

A great time was had by all and we are glad to support TULS and the Womens Legal Service.

On Friday, our Litigation Department solicitors headed along to the annual Australian Insurance Law Association - AILA Tasmanian Workers Compensation Masterclass.

We were pleased to have our very own Michael Valentine, Partner, moderate the session β€œRecovery vs Deterioration: The s86(1)(c) conundrum and progressive diseases.”

It was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues across the industry, share insights and engage in thoughtful discussion on some of the key issues impacting workers compensation law.

Thank you to AILA for another valuable and informative Masterclass!

The most adventurous thing I have ever done is to move from the place where I grew up to an entirely different country. I first moved for the purpose of studying for my degree, but later on remained to live as a husband and a dad. Besides the change in environment and culture, I have also had to go from being the (independent) β€œchild” in the household to the responsible adult and parent of my own household.

They may have been small, but they were mighty!

Team WWW proved that size isn't everything, securing an impressive 4th place at the Cystic Fibrosis Tasmania Annual Quiz Night over the weekend. Despite having a table half the size of most other teams, they brought plenty of brainpower while supporting an incredible cause.

A special shout-out to Kailee Donnelly, who modelled the teams entry for the 𝘍𝘒𝘴𝘩π˜ͺ𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘡𝘩𝘦 𝘍π˜ͺ𝘦𝘭π˜₯ competition. She absolutely nailed the Derby Day look and represented the team in style!

Well done to everyone involved for a fantastic evening of fun, teamwork, and fundraising for an amazing cause.

πŸ’— Pink looks good on us, raising awareness looks even better! πŸ’—

Last week, our team proudly wore pink in support of Pink June, helping to raise awareness for breast cancer and show our commitment to an important cause that impacts so many individuals and families in our community.

We are delighted to have already reached more than half of our $500 fundraising goal and look forward to seeing how much more we can raise before 30 June.

Every donation, conversation, and act of support helps raise awareness and make a meaningful difference.
