Today we'd like to give a huge shout-out and heartfelt thank you to AJT Legal for their incredible support of Gympie & District Netball Association.
Three years ago, when our courts were devastated by flooding and we were forced to relocate our competition, stepped up to sponsor our A Grade Ladies competition. Their generosity helped keep our competition running during one of the most challenging periods in our association's history.
Fast forward to today, and even though we're back home on our beautiful courts, AJT Legal has continued their sponsorship. Their ongoing commitment to our netball community means so much to our players, volunteers, and members.

Here's something that surprises almost everyone I tell it to.

Your superannuation does not automatically go to the people named in your Will.

Super sits outside your estate, it's governed by superannuation law, not your Will. Without a valid binding death benefit nomination directly with your super fund, the trustee of that fund decides where it goes when you die.

Your nominations might be out of date if any of these apply to you:

→ You've gotten married or divorced

→ You've had children or grandchildren

→ A nominated beneficiary has passed away

→ You've changed super funds

→ You started or sold a business

→ You haven't checked in the last 3 years

→ You're not actually sure you have one


This is one of the most overlooked elements of a complete estate plan. And one of the simplest to fix.

Duties include:
• Answering the phone
• Scheduling appointments
• Mail, scanning and filing
• Supporting clients in reception

Whilst legal experience would be advantageous it is not essential and all training will be provided.

Queensland's trust laws just had their most significant overhaul in over 50 years — and it happened last week.

The Trusts Act 2025 commenced 28 April 2026, and while most people associate 'trust law' with family trusts and SMSFs, there's something worth knowing if you have a Will.

Your Will may have trustee provisions that are now affected by the new legislation.

One change in particular catches people out — the new Act disqualifies minors from being appointed as executors or trustees (even if that appointment is conditional on then turning a particular age). Some lawyers have in the past appointed children or grandchildren as backup executors or trustees in Wills. Under the new Act, those appointments may no longer comply.

Even a simple Will can be affected.

If your Will hasn't been reviewed recently, or if you're not 100% sure what's in it — this is a good prompt to find out.
