Registration of Interest for Victorian State Visa Nomination
Registration will open on 8 September until 5pm AEST on 21 September 2020.

To be eligible for selection to apply for Victorian visa nomination you must meet the following criteria:
• Already be living in Victoria.
• Already be working in Victoria (minimum six months employment).
• Work in a highly skilled occupation in health or medical research which supports Victoria's economic recovery and/or health response.

NSW to open for the 491 visa for one week

NSW Government will accept nominations for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa Subclass 491 from Monday 15 June 2020 to 5pm Tuesday 23 June 2020.

All applications will be assessed by Tuesday 30 June 2020.

Eligible migrants can improve their English skills for free with the Adult Migrant English Program. Receive up to 510 hours of free English lessons through TAFE Queensland.

To be eligible, you must:

• hold a permanent visa or an “eligible temporary visa”
• do not have a functional level of English
• are 18 years or over (exceptions may apply)

Third Working Holiday Maker (WHM) visa program starts on 1 July 2019.

From 1 July 2019, WHM visa holders who carry out 6 months of specified work in regional areas while on their second Working Holiday (Subclass 417) visa or Work and Holiday (Subclass 462) visa may be eligible to apply for a third visa. Eligible types of work and regional areas are the same as the current requirements for the second visa.

Note: The 6 months work must all be carried out on or after 1 July 2019, so a successful application cannot be lodged before January 2020.

VETASSESS UPDATE - Change in employment length calculation

VETASSESS currently uses only month and year to calculate the employment dates.

As of 14 February 2019, VETASSESS will use the exact date (including day, month and year) for the Date Deemed Skilled to align with the Department of Home Affairs requirements.

Australian skilled workers with recent work experience can gain recognition for your skills by applying for formal qualifications through VETASSESS now.
