How long does probate take in Queensland?
Once we lodge the application with the Supreme Court, an uncontested grant usually comes through within a few weeks. Finalising the whole estate – collecting assets, paying debts and distributing to beneficiaries – typically takes 6 to 12 months.
What slows things down: missing paperwork, an original will that can't be found, disputes between family members, or property that has to be sold.
