Another skilled migration journey has reached the finish line and this one shows just how powerful the right migration strategy can be.

Congratulations to our client Francisco on the grant of his Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa! πŸ₯³πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

πŸͺš Occupation: Cabinetmaker
πŸ“ State nomination: Queensland
⭐ Points: 70
πŸŽ‚ Age: 24
🏑 Outcome: Australian Permanent Residency

And here is how his journey unfolded:

➑️ EOI submitted: 2 February 2026
➑️ Invitation received: 10 March 2026
➑️ Subclass 190 lodged: 23 April 2026
➑️ PR GRANTED: 26 August 2026 πŸŽ‰

From EOI to becoming an Australian Permanent Resident in less than 7 months! πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Francisco’s 70-point strategy included points for his age, proficient English, Australian skilled employment, qualification, Australian study, being single and Queensland nomination.

πŸ’ Think 65 points is always enough? Think you need 90+ points to get PR?

Every occupation and state pathway is different.

A successful skilled migration strategy isn't simply about collecting as many points as possible. It is about understanding where your occupation fits, which state pathways may be available, how your points can be maximised and when to act.

At Simona Migration, we assist our clients through the entire skilled migration journey: from assessing the strategy and preparing the EOI through to state nomination, invitation and the final visa application.

✨ Your occupation could be your pathway to Australian PR too.

NOMINATION APPROVED AND 482 VISA GRANTED β€” ALL ON THE SAME DAY! πŸ€―πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Now this is the kind of email our clients love receiving.

On 25 August 2026, our corporate client's nomination was approved.

And on that very same day, their employee's Skills in Demand (Subclass 482) visa was GRANTED! πŸŽ‰

❄️ Occupation: Airconditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic
πŸ“ Gold Coast, QLD
βœ… Stream: Core Skills
πŸ“… Visa granted: 25 August 2026
πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Visa valid until: 25 August 2029

One day. Two successful outcomes. One very happy employer and employee. πŸ™Œ

πŸŽ‰ FROM EOI TO AUSTRALIAN PERMANENT RESIDENCY β€” WITH JUST 65 POINTS! πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Think 65 points isn't enough to make your Australian PR dream possible? This successful outcome shows why the right migration strategy matters. πŸ‘€

Congratulations to our client Diego, a Carpenter, on the grant of his Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa! πŸ”¨πŸŽ‰

His journey:

πŸ“Œ EOI submitted: 5 August 2024
πŸ“© Invitation received: 11 March 2026
πŸ“„ Subclass 190 lodged: 28 April 2026
πŸŽ‰ VISA GRANTED: 24 August 2026

⭐ Points score: 65
πŸ“ Nominated by Queensland
πŸ”¨ Occupation: Carpenter
🏑 Outcome: Australian Permanent Residency

And this is exactly why we tell our clients: don't compare your points score with someone else's.

Skilled migration isn't simply about collecting the highest number of points possible.

Your occupation, state nomination opportunities, eligibility, timing and overall migration strategy can all influence the pathway available to you.

At Simona Migration, we assess the whole picture.

We help our clients understand their options, develop a migration strategy, prepare their EOI and state nomination applications, and manage the visa process through to a decision.

For Diego, that journey has now ended with the words every skilled migrant wants to see:

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί VISA GRANTED. PERMANENT RESIDENCY SECURED. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Congratulations, Diego! πŸ₯‚ We are so happy to have been part of your journey.

❓ Have you been told your points are too low?

Before giving up on skilled migration, let us assess your circumstances and determine whether there may be another pathway available to you.

🚨 STRUGGLING TO FIND THE SKILLED WORKERS YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS?

For some Australian businesses, the right candidate isn't always available locally β€” and that's where employer sponsorship can become part of the solution. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

πŸŽ‰ We're excited to share another successful Subclass 482 Skills in Demand nomination approval for one of our corporate clients!

❄️ Occupation: Airconditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic
πŸ“ Location: Gold Coast
πŸ’Ό Stream: Core Skills
πŸ’° Remuneration: $87,360
βœ… Nomination approved: 25 August 2026

This approval means the employer's nomination of the position and overseas worker has been approved by the Department β€” another important step in the employer-sponsored visa process.

At Simona Migration, we work closely with Australian businesses to manage the sponsorship process from beginning to end.

From assessing sponsorship options and preparing the employer documentation through to the nomination and employee's visa application, our team helps businesses navigate what can otherwise be a complex process.

πŸ‘· Can't find the skilled workers your business needs?

You may have employer sponsorship options available.

πŸ’¬ "My occupation is on the Skilled Occupation List. Does that mean I can move to Australia?"

It's one of the biggest misconceptions we see.

The answer is not necessarily.

Having your occupation on an Australian occupation list is an important starting pointβ€”but it's only one part of the assessment.

Depending on the visa you're interested in, you may also need to meet requirements such as:

βœ… A suitable skills assessment (where required)
βœ… English language requirements
βœ… Relevant qualifications and work experience
βœ… Health and character requirements
βœ… Employer sponsorship, State/Territory nomination or an invitation to apply, depending on the visa

Every visa has its own eligibility criteria, and the most suitable pathway will depend on your individual circumstances.

That's why two people with the same occupation can have very different migration options.

Getting married while your Student visa is being processed? Read this before it's too late.

This is one of the most common mistakes we see.

"I lodged my Student visa application while I was single, but I got married before it was granted. Can my spouse still join me later?"

The answer may surprise you.

Here's an example:

πŸ“… You lodge your Student visa.

πŸ’ A few months later, while your application is still being processed, you get married.

βœ… Your Student visa is granted.

Later, you decide your spouse should apply as your dependent.

Can they?

⚠️ Not always.

If your spouse was already a member of your family before your Student visa was granted, they generally must have been declared in your original Student visa application.

If they were not declared, they may not be eligible to be granted a Student visa as your dependent later.

"But I forgot to update the Department..."

Unfortunately, forgetting to declare your spouse can have significant consequences.

An undeclared family member who was already part of the family unit before the Student visa was granted is generally not eligible to later apply as a subsequent entrant.

In some circumstances, the Student visa holder may instead need to lodge an entirely new Student visa application, including their spouse but it is not always possible.

The lesson?

βœ… If your relationship status changes before your Student visa is decided, tell the Department immediately.

Waiting until after the visa is granted could significantly limit your spouse's future visa options.

Every situation is different, and the correct strategy depends on the timing of your relationship, your visa stage, and your personal circumstances.

If you're unsure what your obligations are, seek advice before your Student visa is granted, it may save you considerable time, cost and stress later.

πŸ’¬ "I've applied for my new visa. Can I travel overseas while I'm waiting?"

If you've lodged your visa application while in Australia, this is something you should check before booking your flights.

If you're holding a Bridging Visa A (BVA), leaving Australia without first obtaining a Bridging Visa B (BVB) may affect your ability to return while your new visa application is being processed.

A Bridging Visa B allows eligible applicants to leave and re-enter Australia during a specified travel period while their substantive visa application remains under consideration.

If you're planning an overseas trip, don't assume your bridging visa allows you to travel.

DOUBLE PARTNER VISA GRANT! 820 + 801 GRANTED ON THE SAME DAY! πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ίβ€οΈ

Why celebrate one visa grant when you can celebrate TWO? πŸŽ‰

We’re thrilled to share an incredible outcome for our client, who received both:

βœ… Partner Visa (Subclass 820) – GRANTED
βœ… Permanent Partner Visa (Subclass 801) – GRANTED
πŸ“… Both on 14 August 2026!

Instead of receiving the temporary 820 visa and then waiting for the permanent stage to be finalised later, our client received both the temporary and permanent Partner visas on the same day.

That means one email brought something much bigger than a visa approval: Australian permanent residency. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

At Simona Migration, we focus on preparing strong, comprehensive Partner visa applications from the beginning. We carefully review the relationship evidence, identify potential gaps and guide our clients through the process so their application presents their circumstances as clearly as possible.

πŸ’ Planning to apply for a Partner visa?
❀️ Already in Australia with your Australian partner?
πŸ“‘ Unsure whether you have enough evidence?

Don’t leave one of the most important applications of your life to chance.

Thinking about changing jobs while on a 482 Skills in Demand Visa?

Many visa holders assume they can simply accept a new job offer and start work. Unfortunately, it's not that simple.

If you want to change employers, ensure:

βœ… Your new employer is, or is willing to become, an approved Standard Business Sponsor.

βœ… They must lodge a new nomination to link your existing 482 visa to the new sponsoring employer.

Planning ahead is essential to avoid breaching your visa conditions or affecting your future migration options.

If you're considering changing employers, get advice before handing in your resignation.
