What Does a Child Consultant Session Actually Look Like?

Child Consultant session gives children a safe and supportive opportunity to express their views, wishes and experiences.

It is not about asking children to choose sides or make adult decisions.

It is about understanding:

What their world looks like
What is working well for them
What feels difficult or confusing
Where they may be experiencing barriers
What support they may need from the adults around them

Children do not always communicate in the same way adults do. Sometimes they use words. Sometimes they use play, drawing, stories, or quiet reflection.

Our role is to listen carefully, understand their experience, and help parents and professionals better consider the child’s needs.

Because children deserve to be heard, without carrying the weight of adult decisions.

We’ve been a little quiet on here lately… but for a good reason.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been busy supporting families, parents and individuals through some really difficult conversations and life changes.

At AID Resolutions, much of our work happens privately and carefully, helping people navigate separation, parenting arrangements, communication breakdowns, family conflict and reconnection.

It’s work we feel very privileged to do.

We continue to support families through:

Family Mediation
Counselling
Parent Coordination
Child Consultant Services

So, while we may not have been posting much, we are still very much here.

As the year winds down, we know this season means different things for different people.

Whether you’re soaking up the sun, enjoying quiet time, spending moments with loved ones, or just taking a breath, we’re holding space for all of it.

At AID Resolutions, we’re incredibly grateful to every client, professional, and partner who trusted us in 2025. Thank you for being part of this meaningful work.

Please note:
Our office will be closed from 24 December 2025 to 5 January 2026 as we take a short summer break to rest and recharge.
