About the Role

Holdfast Conveyancers is seeking a passionate and driven Conveyancer or Conveyancing Clerk to join our team reporting to the owner of the business. This is a permanent full time role but will consider part time hours over 5 days a week for the right applicant. Responsibilities include the following:

Manage residential and commercial conveyancing files
Review and provide Contract and Form 1 advice
Communicate effectively with clients whilst being empathetic to their transaction
Identify and build lasting relationships with Real Estate Agents, Mortgage Brokers, and Finance Industry Professionals
Represent the firm at networking events and community functions
Skills and Experience

Registered Conveyancer or Conveyancing Clerk/Assistant

Ideally 2 years' experience in the industry
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Confidence to work collaboratively and autonomously
Proven ability to use Microsoft Office, Revenue SA online portal, and SAILIS

Established in 1987, Holdfast Conveyancers enjoys a reputation of prompt and personal service when delivering conveyancing transactions involving Real Estate in SA 🏆. With the family business now in the safe hands of the next generation 👏, I had the pleasure of meeting Grant Barkla, who with his wife Melanie took over the business in 2010 😎.

After completing a degree in Architectural Drafting 👨‍🎓, Grant took time away to travel 🛫before returning to Adelaide to start his career at Uni SA in their property division. Some time, and a few positions later, Grant was head hunted to manage a factory which produced amongst other things Walco Blankies. It was during this time that his mother and father-in-law indicated they were planning on retirement 🌏 and wanted to keep the business in the family.

With a wife and two children 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 (Lachlan and Matilda) plus a demanding full-time job, Grant studied Conveyancing part time to gain his qualifications 👨‍🎓. It was a busy time for the family, but it was all worth it once Grant and Melanie (who was already a qualified conveyancer), purchased the business ☑️.
Since then, significant growth has been achieved, positioning Holdfast Conveyancers as a leader in the industry.

During Covid, Grant and Melanie took great pride in ensuring that no staff member lost their job. It was tough, the government incentives certainly helped, but to an outsider like me, this is a clear indicator as to the integrity they have, a trait all their clients benefit from 🦸. As Grant said, “it doesn’t cost anything to be nice and do the right thing by people.”

Merry Christmas to all our wonderful clients and colleagues from the Holdfast team! 🎅🎄

Here are a few photos from our Christmas Party a few weeks ago. We had a wonderful night unwinding from what has been a busy year 🎉

Our office will be closed from 5pm today however we will have staff available in the office next week to assist with any upcoming matters on all business days excluding public holidays. We will be back in full swing from 9am on the 4th January 2022.
