We are thrilled to welcome Tom Adamson to the B&B Team, and back home to Glen Innes.

Tom joins us after spending the last few years away in Victoria, where he’s been busy advancing his skills in litigation. He has hit the ground running since arriving back in town, already taking on clients across a broad range of areas, including estates, trusts, and commercial law.

YES. Absolutely. ChatGPT can draft your legal documents. Honestly, it can draft almost anything.

✨BUT.✨

We will not execute them, we will not store them, and there is a fair chance many firms will not want to untangle the mess later if things go wrong. We only have so much capacity for complex estate disputes and the ones caused by unclear DIY documents are not our favourites to take on.

Yes, AI can draft your will. But it probably won't:
📜properly understand your family dynamics
📜protect your estate from future disputes
📜clearly reflect your intentions
📜or anticipate the issues that actually cause litigation later

Australian courts are already seeing growing disputes involving AI drafted wills, online 10 minute wills or will kits where families are left arguing about what someone really meant.

A will is an investment. It is the document that speaks for you when you no longer can. Use us or use another law firm. But please use a professional.

Because once adult siblings start arguing over “what Dad would have really wanted” in a waiting room, things have usually gone very wrong (and it becomes super awkward for us!).

• Watch for spelling changes, unusual wording or suspicious email addresses.
• Our team emails include professional signatures and staff photographs for added verification.

While the supermarkets have offered hot cross buns since Boxing Day, we have waited until now to launch our Easter craft competition. The children’s artwork always brings joy to our reception displays in the lead up to our Easter break.
To receive a PDF version, comment “Easter” and the document will be sent to your Messenger to download and print at home. You can also visit any B&B Legal office to collect a printed copy to take home and decorate.

While many might imagine our Paralegals Kylie and Derell gliding around the office like Rachel Zane from suits, we hate to break it to you… Having the title of Paralegal is little less glamorous around here. There’s no dramatic soundtrack, no slow-motion corridor walks, and definitely no time for power poses.

Instead, their day looks more like:
📞 Client calls back-to-back
📂 Deadlines approaching from three different directions
🗒 Post-it notes on top of Post-it notes (with one very important one stuck to the computer screen)
📧 47 emails marked “urgent”
📋 Chasing agents, accountants and other professionals for documents
👩‍🏫 Mentoring a large team of administration staff and providing a very patient listening ear whenever needed.
⚖ Ensuring compliance, accuracy and quality in every single file or client experience.
🥤 And gently reminding the solicitors to eat, drink… and return to their desks!

It’s organised chaos. It’s precision under pressure. It’s being pulled in multiple directions while still keeping every detail exactly where it needs to be. Every member plays a part in our beautiful team, but our paralegals are the super glue, keeping us together, on time and firmly in our chairs instead of under our desks (Especially on the days Derell makes loaded croissants).
