I’m thrilled to share some exciting news that marks a significant milestone in our journey. Shorter LegalShorter Legal now welcomes The Family Law Project (FLP) under our banner and their amazing team of solicitors McFarlane Monica Brogden Aleesha DeGiglio and Roger Tinning. This was an opportunity that aligns perfectly with our mission and values.

Also joining us is Melina Vottari who will assist with administrative and clerk tasks, while completing her Law degree and Dan, Angie and Crystal who provide remote administrative support.

Darren Shorter CSC, LLB, GDLP, GAICD and I, as Directors of Shorter Legal, seek to continue the wonderful work, and personalised professional legal services of the FLP.

The acquisition of the FLP strengthens our position in the family law and Wills & Estates space, bringing in not only a wealth of expertise but also a shared commitment to client care, innovation, and community impact and an expansion our services into Adelaide CBD and beyond.

We want to acknowledge the incredible work of both our (Gawler based) team (Tanya Donald, Elijah Li, Mikaela Shorter, Suzie Lewis and Sue Haylock) and the Family Law Project team. This transition has been collaborative, and focused on ensuring continuity for clients and staff alike.

For the Shorter Legal team, this is more than just an expansion — it’s a launchpad for growth. We’re now better equipped to serve more families, tackle more complex cases, and innovate in ways that truly set us apart.

Shorter Legal would like to introduce and welcome our newest Solicitor, Elijah Li to our team. Elijah joins us with a breadth of knowledge in family law matters, after working as Deputy Associate to Judge Cole (FCFCOA - Division 2).

Elijah will be assisting our clients in the areas of Family Law and Wills & Estates and will be working along side Mel Shorter LLM, GDLP, GAICD, and Tanya Donald.
