We are delighted to announce that Yun Teng has been promoted to Associate at Ascent Lawyers.

This promotion recognises what we have long known: Yun is a careful and dependable lawyer, someone who takes the time to listen and treats every client's concerns with patience and genuine empathy. She explains the law in plain language and guides clients through each step of their claim, so they always understand where they stand and what comes next.

Her professional journey has been anything but conventional. Yun began her career in Taiwan's court system before retraining in Australian law and devoting her practice to personal injury and compensation claims. The result is a perspective not many lawyers bring to this work: a genuine understanding of how courts and insurers operate on both sides of the world, combined with the fluency to advise with equal precision in English and Mandarin. For clients from Chinese-speaking backgrounds across Queensland, this often makes the difference between feeling lost in the process and feeling truly understood.

Her promotion is a milestone for Yun — and a reflection of the depth of talent we are building at Ascent Lawyers. As an Associate, she will take on greater responsibility, including a greater part in the firm's important decisions. A woman in her 20s was riding an electric scooter home
after a long shift,
and was struck as she crossed at this intersection
by a vehicle turning right from Goman Street onto Bradman Street.

The other driver did stop nearby on Bellrick Street,
but in the shock of the moment,
she was unable to clearly note down the vehicle's full details.
