I love the snow and skiing…. I try to sneak away for a week each year to play amongst the snowflakes…

My skiing is more enthusiastic than skillful, but I enjoy time on the slopes with my kids (*they are much better than me already) and trying to catch them as they whizz past me!

We thought it best to introduce our final team member before the office closes for the year… last, but certainly not least, is Corey Suckling. Corey has wanted to be a lawyer since he could talk, this made sense to his family as a child Corey rarely shut up. Having been born and bred in Dubbo he left our city’s bright lights to attend University in Wollongong. After University he completed his Practical Legal Training with a local Barrister and then spent 18 months conducting prosecutions for the Department of Education and Training.

On finding out that Osborne Legal needed a lawyer with a strong interest in criminal law, he traded the beach for the bush and tells us that he has been enjoying being back in Dubbo. He just needs his girlfriend and dog (listed in order of importance) to follow suit. Since coming on board in the middle of 2021 Corey has appeared in Courts in Dubbo, Wellington, Mudgee, Nyngan, Warren and Narromine. Sometimes he is in the office too!

When he is not loitering around the Local Courts in the Central West Corey can be found playing cricket, or sitting in the pool watching cricket, or drinking beers and watching cricket. He has joined the office campaign (lead by Lisa and Hannah) for a television to be installed to watch the cricket in the office (*Michelle still says no) and was vocal in his support for the 2022 Osborne Legal Christmas Party to be held at a Big Bash game in Sydney….

You may have noticed that our meet the team posts disappeared – unfortunately lock down got in the way of introducing everyone, but we are now back on track!

The next people due for introductions is our wonderful receptionist Patricia (aka Trish). Trish was born and raised in Dubbo and after finishing school at Dubbo College Senior Campus, started a nursing degree at Charles Sturt University. University was not for her and she found her place working in a local dentistry practice for 8 years. During this period she also started her family and now has her hands full with 2 energetic and busy boys. Trish joined our team in March 2021 when a full time position was available and she is a welcome addition to our team. If you have called our office, come in for an appointment or sent emails to us, chances are you have had the pleasure of meeting Trish.

When Trish is not managing our phones, appointments and conference rooms (and making sure we have everything we need to do our jobs) she can be found at the dam or river camping with her family, or curled up on the couch binge watching Netflix or Stan – actually if she is honest, the TV is more often tuned into to watch Snow Patrol these days thanks to the boys. 😊

Our story

Osborne Legal opened its doors on 1 July 2015, with Principal Solicitor Michelle Osborne and Lisa McGirr as her Legal Assistant. Less than a month later, Megan Raines joined our team as a Solicitor.

Thanks to the support of our loyal clients, we expanded over the next 12 months and saw the arrival of Hannah Hogan as our receptionist and Rachel Brown as a Solicitor.

2018 saw more changes, with a new premises in Talbragar Street in February 2018, the opening of our Wellington Office on Swift Street in July 2018, and the addition of Ashlie Pascoe in our support staff team. 2018 was also the year that Michelle obtained Specialist Accreditation in Family Law. It was been a busy, busy year!

In 2019 and 2020 we have seen Ashlie move on to bigger and better things and have welcomed a new graduate solicitor Chloe Glass and a new receptionist, Bella Ray.
