At Porter Davis, we’d like you to know our belief about why we exist and what we hold true. We think what we do matters, because a new home is so much more than bricks and mortar. We believe a new home is the foundation to the picture of how life should and can be. It stands strong when the dream may weaken. It flexes to change, stays steady when life runs wild. To us, the idea of a home goes way

beyond construction, or service, or design or style. It’s the very cornerstone of life’s hopes and aspirations. And it’s a brave thing to create. We understand and respect that - and those who set out to create their dreams around a new home. We appreciate the fragility of such visions and we exist to protect and nurture those dreams. It’s why above all, we exist to respect the dream.

When we treat people with respect and dignity, we are more human. We want to create a campaign that encourages mutual respect in our homes, locally and in the broader community. We can change the conversation to encourage people to rethink how they respect others. We can remind people of the role respect plays in our daily lives. Our page is a place where you can tune into the kindness around us, hear heartfelt stories of those fighting the good fight. We want you stand with us and campaign for respect. Thanks,
Porter Davis
Respect the Dream

PAGE GUIDELINES
We want the Campaign for Respect page to be a place for people to connect and have thoughtful discussion on varying themes of respect raised by our posts. With that said, there are a few common sense house rules to keep in mind when posting anything to the Campaign for Respect page. Follow these guidelines to help keep the conversation on track. Basically:

Be Nice – there’s no need to be rude or offensive. This includes swearing, name-calling, and posting things that aren’t appropriate towards other users, our partners, ambassadors, employees and competitors. No bullying – we’re all about having an intelligent conversation and respecting each other as we do so. Racism, discrimination and picking on others is a complete no go. Don’t respond to attacks – report them to us and move on. Stay on topic – keep your comments on topic and constructive and take responsibility for the quality of the comments you post. If it’s not our post it’s not our opinion – The comments posted on this page, other than those posted by us, do not represent the opinions of Porter Davis. We don’t guarantee the accuracy or endorse any comments or posts by others. Above all else, respect others and their opinions. Be you:
We require real names - they help us maintain a transparent conversation. We reserve the right to delete comments made under aliases. Be considerate:
We’re here to talk about the notion of respect, not the people behind them. We’ll delete: personal attacks directed at anyone; all forms of discrimination (or posts that could be interpreted as such); posts we believe exist only to provoke or mislead; posts identifying or sharing the personal information of another person (including children) without their consent; and comments that are commercial or repeatedly shared external links. Be respectful:
Treat people with the respect you’d like to receive. Admit when you’re wrong. You’ll come across opinions you disagree with. But that doesn’t make them invalid. Be on-topic:
Keep comments relevant to the post. We reserve the right to delete off-topic comments to keep the conversation on track. Be constructive:
Explain why you disagree or agree with something. Your reasoning is as important as your opinion.

“This post sucks” will be deleted.
“I disagree with this post. Here’s why…” won’t be.

“You’re an idiot” will be deleted.

“Have you considered…” won’t be. Back up your ideas with evidence and fact where possible. If you’re claiming something as scientific fact, try to provide credible references. We’ll distinguish between constructive comments and smear campaigns. We’ll remove any deliberate attempts to misinform, distort facts or misrepresent the opinions of others. Be legal:
Don’t post anything that may put us in legal jeopardy – nothing defamatory, nothing in breach of copyright. Be proactive:
Take responsibility for the quality of the conversations you participate in; only reply to things you consider worth your attention. Report posts you think violate these standards. What we’ll do:
We reserve the right to remove comments that breach these standards and ban users who breach them repeatedly. We take a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination. Replies to comments that have been deleted may themselves be deleted, either to remove the thread or because they don’t make sense out of context. We won’t discuss moderation on the site. If you need to discuss anything, contact our Community Manager - [email protected]. We hope you enjoy our page. Thanks,
Porter Davis
