Due to the below incident, our office is now closed until further notice.

Rooke Street at Devonport is now clear from the earlier crash and gas leak.

Power has been restored in the CBD and roads have been re-opened.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

**Updated @ 5.15pm** Devonport...

Police and emergency services remain at the scene of a crash on Rooke Street at Devonport and a 100m exclusion zone remains in place due to a gas leak.

Around 2.10pm a small vehicle, driven by a woman, entered the footpath area on Rooke Street and struck two pedestrians and the front of a building which broke a gas main.

Two pedestrians have been transported to the North West Regional Hospital with injuries from the crash, including a 61-year-old woman who is in a serious condition.

Three other people have been transported to Hospital with what is believed to be gas exposure.

Power remains switched off to the Devonport CBD while Tasmania Fire Service are rendering the gas leak safe.

Roads around the CBD remain blocked until the scene is rendered safe.

➡ Owners of businesses on Rooke Street are asked to walk to the intersection of Rooke Street and King Street and meet police to assist in unlocking buildings.
