DAY 6 — COWRA → BATHURST 🚗

And just like that… we’ve done it. The final day of the Variety Motoring in NSW/ACT

Our last day on the road started with a beautiful welcome from Neville Public School, who had the team in for morning tea before we continued towards Bathurst.

Then came that feeling…We’d made it.
Arriving into Bathurst with the incredible backdrop of Mount Panorama, it really started to sink in just how far we’d travelled and everything we’d experienced along the way.

We watched the Bash Busters enter the Hall of Fame and celebrated an incredible milestone with one very special participant, 93 years young and completing her final year behind the wheel.

What a woman. What a journey. What a privilege to witness.

Six days. Thousands of kilometres. Countless towns, schools, farmers, families, new friendships, laughs, breakdowns, challenges and memories.

And now it’s complete.

A massive THANK YOU to every person who waved from the roadside, welcomed us into their communities, donated, sponsored, fed us, cheered us on and supported The Ken Worths along the way.

You made this journey what it was. Now it’s time to head back to Sydney, reunite with our families, recover from an incredible six days and start reflecting on just what a journey this has been.

We couldn’t be prouder to have done it for Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW & ACT.

DAY 5 — ALBURY → COWRA 💗🚗

We may have been one of the last cars to arrive this morning after enjoying everyone’s company the night before… 😅

Thankfully, Gerogery Public School had us sorted with a fantastic breakfast, and two bacon and egg rolls later, we were ready to hit the road!

The day brought plenty of fun and friendly competition, with challenges including dry fishing, casting a lure into a bucket, bean bag throwing and golf chipping into a series of buckets.

Then came a party stop where no ice was required. 🥶
It was absolutely freezing, so a beer on the fence post for five minutes was cold enough to drink!

Along the way, more farmers and townsfolk were out waving the convoy on, and one local even stopped us in the street to make a donation after seeing the cars pass by.

Those unexpected moments of generosity are what make this journey so special. And the backdrop? The incredible green landscapes of regional NSW. 💚

Day 5 done. One more to go.

DAY 4 — GRIFFITH → ALBURY 💗🚗

TWO-THIRDS OF THE WAY!

Day 4 of 6 and the excitement is definitely building!

We stopped in at Yamma Hall, where the convoy is really starting to feel like one big crew. Comfort zones are getting stretched, the laughs are getting bigger, new friendships are forming and the camaraderie is something pretty special.

Four days on the road has a funny way of bringing people together!

Then it was on to Albury, where we caught up with one of our sponsors Megz Be U Now Branding and captured some awesome drone footage of the convoy.

4 days down. 2 to go.

The kilometres are adding up, the memories are stacking up and we’re getting closer to the finish line.

DAY 3 — DUBBO → GRIFFITH 💗🚗

Well… Day 3 brought our first breakdown!

The Hummer lost the cap off its power steering reservoir, and finding a replacement Hummer cap in Griffith wasn’t exactly looking promising.

So, in true Bash fashion, the team improvised with a Coke bottle and created a temporary fix to keep us moving.

Problem solved. Back on the road!

Then came the canola fields… and wow. Absolutely incredible. Our Ken Ben looked very much at home amongst the yellow fields. 💛

And just when we thought the Barbie and Ken theme couldn’t get any better, we came across two little Barbies who serenaded us with “I’m a Barbie Girl” as we passed.

Honestly… this trip is writing its own script. 💗

We eventually rolled into Griffith, where we received another incredibly warm welcome from the VisitGriffith team.

As Roxley said:

“Great to see townsfolk and farmers out on the side of the road waving the convoy on.”

And that’s what makes this journey so special.

Day 3 done. ✅

One breakdown. One Coke bottle. Fields of gold. Two Barbies. And one very happy Ken.
