Potential renovators are increasingly relying on online reviews to choose their builder or tradespeople

Negative online reviews can be callous, unnecessary and unfair

Here are 4 tips for builders for handling negative online business reviews:

1️⃣ Comment on the review; you should respond to every online review whether it is good or bad because potential clients are looking to see how you respond to feedback

2️⃣ If the review is fake, still respond to it to the platform where it is posted (e.g. Google) and ask for it to be removed

3️⃣ Encourage your clients to leave online reviews; some businesses offer incentives or rewards for leaving online reviews

4️⃣ If the review is defamatory, still respond but seek legal advice about your options
