Changing the Narrative on Su***de

This year, World Su***de Prevention Day and R U OK? Day fall on the same day, providing an important opportunity to talk about the power of connection, compassion and simply checking in with the people around us.

The theme for World Su***de Prevention Day is โ€œChanging the Narrative on Su***deโ€ โ€” encouraging us to move away from silence, stigma and misunderstanding and towards open, compassionate conversations.

R U OK? reminds us that these conversations shouldnโ€™t happen only once a year. People experience lifeโ€™s ups and downs every day, and checking in with someone we care about can help them feel heard, cared for and supported.

๐Ÿ’› If someoneโ€™s on your mind, trust your instinct and start a conversation.

You donโ€™t need to have all the answers. Sometimes, listening without judgement and letting someone know you care can be an important first step.

Letโ€™s keep the conversation going โ€” not just today, but any day.

๐Ÿงก Start the conversation. Listen. Support. Connect.

For information and resources about starting an R U OK? conversation, visit www.ruok.org.au

If you or someone you know needs immediate support, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14. If life is in danger, call 000.

๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒˆ Wear It Purple Day 2026 | Colours of Courage

This Wear It Purple Day, Legal Aid NT celebrates the many colours of courage shown by LGBTQIA+SB people, allies and communities every day.

Courage can be speaking up and standing up for change. It can also be the quieter acts of bravery โ€” being yourself, asking for support, standing beside someone, or choosing hope and pride when things feel difficult.
We recognise the courage it takes to create safer, more inclusive communities where everyone can feel respected, accepted and supported.

We all have a role to play. By listening, learning, speaking up against discrimination and supporting one another, we can help create spaces where everyone feels safe to be themselves.

๐Ÿ’œ Your identity matters. Your voice matters. You deserve to feel safe, respected and supported.

๐Ÿ’œ Wear purple, show your support, and help create a more inclusive community.
