Hey everyone, quick update the ART department has announced a fee change, and it kicks in from 1st July 2026. If you’re planning anything migration‑related, listen up.

Firstly

🟢 Protection visa review: $2,293.
And you only pay this if your application is unsuccessful.

🟢 Migration decision review: the fee is increasing to $3,727.
Yeah, it’s a big jump but here’s the good part: if you’re dealing with financial hardship, you can apply for a 50% reduction. So don’t stress straight away.

That’s the main update that affects you all. If you’re thinking about lodging something soon, doing it before July 1 could save you a decent amount.

A major change to ART student visa appeals is now in effect.

For many student visa refusal cases, the ART may decide the review based on documents and written submissions without conducting a hearing.

This means:
✅ Strong evidence is more important than ever
✅ Deadlines must be taken seriously

However, hearings may still be conducted in more complex matters involving fraud, identity, character, integrity, or security concerns.
