If something happened to you tomorrow, who would raise your children?

It's a question no parent wants to think about, but it's one of the most important decisions in your estate plan.

A testamentary guardian is the person you nominate in your Will to care for your children if you pass away while they're under 18. The right choice isn't about finding the perfect person. It's about who can realistically give your kids stability, love and continuity when they need it most.

It's also worth planning how that guardian will be supported financially. A testamentary trust or a separate trustee can make sure the funds you leave are used for your children, and that your guardian isn't left out of pocket.
