Betty Quelch AWARD - Feeling proud to be nominated for the Betty Quelch Award for 2019. Congratulations to all the nominees and thank you for my nomination.
Betty Quelch was one of the first 5 settlement agents in Perth and Quelch Settlements was located at 40 St Georges Terrace on the corner of Barrack St.
Ms Quelch was passionate about the settlement industry and originally worked in a law firm training many in conveyancing. Those who were around in the 1970’s or 80’s and knew Ms Quelch, recall she was an immaculately dressed, well spoken, business woman who gave and expected excellence in the workplace. Ms Quelch was involved with a number of other pioneers, in preparation of the Bill that went before parliament that became the Settlement Agents Act.
Many have described her as a pinnacle of excellence in the industry. In recognition of Betty Quelch we have an award that recognises “Excellence in the Performance of a Settlement Agency”
