๐Ÿšจ Skilled Visa Income Thresholds Have Increased โ€” Effective 1 July 2025 ๐Ÿšจ

If you're applying for or sponsoring a skilled visa in Australia, this is important information you need to know!

As of 1 July 2025, the minimum income thresholds for several skilled visa programs have officially increased. These thresholds play a key role in determining whether a nomination application will be approved.

๐Ÿ’ผ Whatโ€™s Changed?
๐ŸŸฆ Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT):
Now $76,515 (previously $73,150)
Applies to:
โ€ข Skills in Demand (subclass 482) โ€“ Core Skills stream
โ€ข Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186)

๐ŸŸฆ Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT):
Now $141,210 (previously $135,000)
Applies to:
โ€ข Skills in Demand (subclass 482) โ€“ Specialist Skills stream

๐ŸŸฆ Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT):
Now $76,515 (previously $73,150)
Applies to:
โ€ข Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (subclass 494)
โ€ข Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (subclass 187)

๐Ÿ“Œ Why This Is So Important
For a nomination to be approved, the offered salary must meet:
โœ”๏ธ the new income threshold, OR
โœ”๏ธ the Annual Market Salary Rate (AMSR) โ€” whichever is higher.

If the salary in the employment contract doesnโ€™t meet this requirement, the nomination will likely be refused โ€” even if everything else is in order.

Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s crucial that:
โœ… Employment contracts show the correct salary
โœ… The wage reflects current market rates
โœ… All documentation is consistent and accurate

๐Ÿงญ What You Should Do Now
If you're an employer, visa applicant, or migration agent, make sure all new applications comply with the updated rules.

๐Ÿ“„ Review contracts and salary offers
๐Ÿ“Œ Double-check AMSR for the nominated occupation
๐Ÿ“ค Ensure everything aligns with the new thresholds

These changes are already in effect โ€” so acting now will help avoid unnecessary delays or refusals.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Need help reviewing your case or preparing a compliant application? Iโ€™m here to assist with expert guidance and personalised advice.

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ’™ Bring Your Parents to Australia โ€” Letโ€™s Keep Families Together! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

Many Australian families dream of having their parents close by โ€” whether for a few years or permanently. Fortunately, Australia offers a range of parent visas for parents of settled Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens. These visas aim to reunite families and cater to different circumstances, such as age, whether your parents are offshore or onshore, and how quickly you want the visa processed. There are also visitor visas that can help parents spend quality time with family in Australia while waiting for a permanent option.

There are also visitor visas that can help parents spend quality time with family in Australia while waiting for a permanent option.

โœจ Parent visas allow parents to join their children in Australia โ€” either temporarily or permanently. They also vary in cost, processing time, and eligibility requirements. Hereโ€™s a quick overview:

๐Ÿก Types of Parent Visas:
โœ… Subclass 103 โ€“ Parent Visa (Permanent):
A non-contributory visa with a lower application fee, but be prepared โ€” processing times can be 30+ years! Applicants must pass the balance of family test and must apply and be granted this visa while outside Australia.

โœ… Subclass 804 โ€“ Aged Parent Visa (Permanent):
A low-cost permanent visa for aged parents who apply while in Australia. Processing times are very long, but itโ€™s an option for eligible older parents who want to stay onshore.

โœ… Subclass 143 โ€“ Contributory Parent Visa (Permanent):
A popular option for faster processing than the 103 visa (usually a few years instead of decades) but it comes with higher fees.

โœ… Subclass 173 โ€“ Contributory Parent Visa (Temporary):
A 2-year temporary visa for parents planning to apply for the permanent Subclass 143 later. This lets families split the migration cost over two stages.

โœ… Subclass 864 โ€“ Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Permanent):
A permanent visa for aged parents applying onshore, with faster processing than the non-contributory 804.

โœ… Subclass 884 โ€“ Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Temporary):
For aged parents already in Australia. Grants a 2-year stay and can be upgraded later to the permanent 864 visa.

โœ… Subclass 870 โ€“ Sponsored Parent (Temporary) Visa:
Allows parents to stay in Australia for 3 or 5 years at a time, up to 10 years in total. This option does not require the balance of family test, making it a great choice for long visits without a commitment to permanent residency.

๐Ÿ’ก Which one is best for your family?
Choosing the right visa depends on your parentsโ€™ age, location, finances, and how soon youโ€™d like them here.

โœจ Weโ€™re here to help! We can check your options, explain costs and timelines, and handle the paperwork โ€” so you can focus on planning happy moments with your loved ones.
