Psychosocial risk is no longer something workplaces can simply acknowledge — it’s something leaders need the confidence and practical skills to actively manage.

Many organisations understand the importance of psychological health at work. The challenge is often knowing what to do next.

How do we:
✅ recognise early warning signs?
✅ start meaningful conversations?
✅ support people before challenges escalate?
✅ create workplaces where people can genuinely thrive?

Understanding psychosocial risk is the first step. Turning that understanding into everyday workplace practice is where meaningful change happens.

Happy Thursday everyone, do you know what today is?

Today October 8 is World Sight Day!

For the last five years, the World Sight Day campaign continues to remind everyone, everywhere to prioritise their own eye health. Over these years, the campaign has secured over 25 million pledges to Love Your Eyes, generated over 1 billion media impressions and continues to grow.

“Love Your Eyes” isn’t just telling people to love their eyes. It is emphasizing accessible, inclusive, and community-driven eye care for everyone.

Did you know that babies are born with blurred vision that gradually improves during their first few months in the world. It takes about four months for an infant to fully see colours and distant objects.

World Sight Day’s call for the eye health sector to once again unite behind the global movement to Love Your Eyes.

Sometimes the question we ask about workplace support starts in the wrong place.

Instead of asking:

“What adjustment does this diagnosis need?”

A more useful question is:

“What is making this person’s work difficult, and what could help?”

Everyone’s experience at work is different. Two people with the same diagnosis can have completely different challenges depending on their role, environment, workload, communication style, and workplace demands.

Our upcoming live online sessions with the Rehabilitation Specialists Institute explore practical ways to understand workplace challenges and identify adjustments that support people to participate and succeed at work.

These sessions are designed for workplace professionals, managers, employees, and anyone supporting people through changing capacity, health changes, injury, or recovery.
