How to Complete a Skills Assessment Without a Relevant Qualification?! 🤔🇦🇺

In Australia, skills assessments are typically based on qualifications and/or work experience. For instance:
• Accounting: Requires accounting coursework plus English proficiency (4x7 IELTS or equivalent) 📚✍️
• IT: Involves IT-related coursework plus Professional Year (PY) training 💻🎓
• Engineering: Uses an engineering degree or a Competency Demonstration Report (CDR) 🏗️🔧
• Other Professions: Such as interpreting, require specific courses 🎤📖

Today, let’s talk about how to complete a skills assessment based solely on work experience. 👇

Skills Assessments Based on Work Experience 💼👩‍💼👨‍💼
For many occupations, VETASSESS is the primary skills assessment authority. Common occupations assessed via VETASSESS include:
• Restaurant Manager 🍽️👨‍🍳
• Hotel Manager 🏨👩‍💼
• Massage Therapist 💆‍♀️💆‍♂️
• Financial Investment Advisor 💰📊
• Marketing Specialist 📈💡

Relevant Degree + 1 Year of Work Experience
If you have a related qualification, you only need 1 year of post-qualification work experience.
• Example: A Marketing Specialist with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and 1 year of relevant work experience can meet the skills assessment requirements 🎓💼

Unrelated Degree + 2–3 Years of Work Experience
If your degree is not related to your target occupation, you’ll need 2 or 3 years of work experience to qualify.
• Example: A Restaurant Manager with an unrelated bachelor’s degree can complete the assessment with 2 years of work experience, even part-time during postgraduate studies 🍽️👩‍🍳

Shortening the Timeline with a Relevant Diploma 🎓💡
To reduce the required work experience from 2 or 3 years to 1 year, consider pursuing a related diploma while gaining work experience.
• Example:
o Hospitality Management Diploma: Study while working in a related role, and you can complete a skills assessment as a Restaurant or Hotel Manager in just 1 year 🍔🏨
o Diploma in Financial Planning or Marketing: Reduces the required work experience for Financial Investment Advisors or Marketing Specialists from 3 years to 2 years 📊💼

Key Takeaways
A skills assessment can be approached from multiple angles, especially with the wide variety of occupations on the skilled occupation list. Whether you rely on qualifications, work experience, or a combination of both, the pathways are flexible and can be tailored to your situation 💼🎓🌏

If you have any questions about skills assessments or need guidance on your pathway, feel free to leave a message for us!!! 💬✨

💍🇦🇺 Thinking about starting a new life in Australia with your partner? The Partner Visa could be the key to making that dream come true! Whether you’re married, engaged, or in a de facto relationship, Australia has a visa to allow you and your loved one to live together in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. 🌏✨

Here’s what you need to know about the Partner Visa in Australia:
1️⃣ Eligibility:
You must either be married, engaged and planning to marry, or in a de facto relationship. In all cases, you’ll need to show that you have a genuine and committed relationship. ❤️ It’s important to provide evidence of your relationship—things like living together, joint finances, and a clear commitment to each other. 🏠💸

2️⃣ Onshore or Offshore?
You can apply either onshore (if you’re already in Australia) or offshore (if you’re living outside of Australia). If you apply in Australia, you’ll likely receive a Bridging Visa to stay in the country while your application is processed. ✈️ If you apply offshore, you’ll need to wait outside of Australia until your visa is approved. 🌍

3️⃣ The Two-Stage Process:
Partner visas are a two-stage application. First, you apply for a Provisional Visa (temporary) while your relationship is assessed. Once you’ve been together for two years, you can then apply for a Permanent Partner Visa, which gives you the right to live and work in Australia permanently. 🎉

4️⃣ Prospective Marriage (Fiancé) Visa (Subclass 300):
Are you engaged and planning to marry soon? The Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300) might be for you! If you’re overseas, this visa allows you to come to Australia to marry your fiancé and then apply for a Partner Visa once you're married. 💍 You must marry within 9 months of being granted the visa, so it’s perfect for those ready to take the next step in their relationship! 💕

5️⃣ Sponsorship Requirements:
Your partner must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to sponsor you. There are some restrictions on who can sponsor—your partner must not have sponsored another partner in the last 5 years. ✅ You’ll need to prove your relationship is genuine, so make sure you provide lots of evidence! 📄

6️⃣ De Facto Relationship:
If you’re in a de facto relationship, you can still apply for a Partner Visa! You’ll need to have lived together for at least 12 months before applying, or you can register your relationship under state or territory law. 💑 If you’ve been together for less than 12 months, it’s still possible to apply—just provide strong evidence of your commitment! 🏡

7️⃣ What Happens Next?
Once your application is lodged, the assessing officer will review your evidence of the relationship. If everything looks good, you’ll be granted a Provisional Partner Visa (if applying onshore or offshore). After two years, you can apply for a Permanent Partner Visa, which will grant you permanent residency and the right to live and work in Australia long-term. 🌟

In some cases, if you’ve been in a long-term relationship (3+ years) or have a child together, you may even be granted both Provisional and Permanent Visas at the same time! 🎉

Ready to Start Your Visa Journey?

Whether you're already in Australia or planning to apply from overseas, the Partner Visa could be your gateway to building a life with your loved one in Australia. 🇦🇺💕

The process may seem complex, but with the right guidance, it’s entirely possible to navigate smoothly. Make sure you gather plenty of evidence, stay patient, and stay committed to your future together. ❤️

If you're ready to take the next step and need help with your application, we’re here for you! Let’s get started today! 💪

✈️Australia’s skilled migration program includes seven visa categories: 186 Employer Sponsored PR, 189 Skilled Independent, 491/494 Regional Sponsored (both under the regional visa category), 190 State/Territory Nominated, 188 Business Innovation & Investment, and 858 GTI/DT Global Talent. ✈️

📕 In the previous post, we analyzed last year's visa grants and the backlog and progress for these seven visa categories. 📅 Overall, for the mainstream skilled migration visas (189, 190, 491), professions such as registered nurse, chef, early childhood teacher, secondary school teacher, mechanical engineer, civil engineer, software engineer, accountant, developer programmer, business analyst (BA), 🍽️restaurant manager (491), and electrical engineer (491) have been particularly favored for invitations. 📈 Nursing, in particular, stands out with a high number of invitations and lower score thresholds, making it one of the more stable pathways for migration this year. 🏥

Today, let’s shift focus to analyze the trends in family migration for last year’s visa grants and this year’s applications. 📊

🔑 Family migration includes partner visas (820/801), parent visas (103/143/804/864), child visas, other family visas, and special eligibility pathways such as the Resident Return Visa (155/157) for those who do not meet the two-year residence requirement. 💗Last year, the total placements for family migration were 52,500, which matches the planned number for this year. 📌 Family migration is an essential part of Australia’s immigration system, allowing Australian citizens and permanent residents to reunite with their families, which helps foster stronger social cohesion. 🤝

🌏The Australian government also recognizes that immigrant parents can make valuable social contributions to their families and local communities. 📜 Last year, over 23,000 new parent migration applications were submitted, bringing the total backlog to around 150,000. 🏠

💍 Partner visas make up the largest component of family migration. This year, the planned quota remains the same as last year, at 40,500 places. Last year saw over 65,000 new applications, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the previous year, 📈with a backlog of over 70,000 as of 30 June 2024. 📇 Since the 2022 fiscal year, the partner program has been operating under a demand-driven model. 🌺 The Australian government believes that:
• The social, economic, and demographic benefits of family reunification and the partner visa program are significant; 🌟
• Flexibility in the program helps to adjust it according to demand, reducing the partner visa backlog and shortening processing times for many applicants. ⏳

🌸 In the increasingly competitive overview of skilled migration, partner migration is also a worthwhile option if possible. 💞

🍁 Exciting News: Queensland Opens State Nomination! Here’s a breakdown of the pathways for skilled workers in QLD. 🌟
✨ Queensland Skilled Worker Pathway 🧡 190 Nomination Requirements:
1. EOI: Minimum score of 65.
2. Skills Assessment: Must be on the designated list and in key sectors like energy, infrastructure, healthcare, education, professional services, agriculture, hospitality, or transport.
⛔ Note: Some occupations are ineligible for the 190 stream, even if they are on the list (e.g., primary/secondary teachers, dietitians, chefs). These can only apply for 491. Always check before applying!
3. English: Proficient level – IELTS 7, or PTE 65.
4. Work Experience:
📢 At least 6 months of working in QLD after completing your qualification: ✅ Must be closely related to the nominated occupation
✅ Minimum of 30 hours per week
📢 You must be employed when submitting your EOI and meet the above requirements.
5. Sustainable Employment: Provide evidence that your job will last at least 12 months from the day you submit your EOI.
6. Commitment: You must agree to live and work in QLD for 2 years after your visa is granted.
💙 491 Nomination Requirements:
Similar to the 190, but with a few differences: ✅ 3 months of work experience required
✅ Contract must have at least 6 months remaining
✅ After visa grant, you must live and work in QLD for 3 years.
🚴 Summary: The list is shrinking, and quotas are reducing, so QLD is focusing on filling critical gaps in the workforce. If you’re in the right field, meeting the criteria isn't too hard – but missteps can make it feel impossible. Stay focused, and good luck, everyone!
