Friday 24 April marked Coco’s final day at CODA Criminal Law. Coco has been a Paralegal at CODA since its inception, and has been an integral team member for the last 18 Months. Always the first to offer to help with any task, big or small, Coco’s infectious energy, sense of humour, and passion for everything to do with the law will be greatly missed around our office.

Luckily for us, we will still be seeing quite a lot of Coco as she steps into the next chapter of her career as an Associate to Magistrate Lawton! Congratulations on the new role Coco, it is thoroughly well deserved and we know you will excel!

Yesterday, 1 April 2026, marked Carley Hitchins promotion to Partner at CODA Criminal Law!

Carley has been with CODA since it’s inception, and has been an integral part of our growth and success in our first year and a half. Her becoming partner comes as no surprise to anyone, and is more of a formal recognition of her hard work and dedication to the firm.

There have been a few graduations for the CODA fam recently 🤩

Carley graduated from in 2020, but missed out on her ceremony due to COVID. We threw a surprise party for her six years later and now she can finally hang her degree in her office!

Ella, our recently admitted junior lawyer, and Claire, one of our former (and dearly missed) paralegals, also celebrated their graduations from .

CODA has now returned in 2026! We hope everyone has had a restful break and a fantastic new year’s celebration.

For last year’s Christmas Party, the wonderful John at Canberra Wine Tours took our team around to some of the local wineries. A massive thank you to and for putting up with us and for supplying such a delicious experience. We couldn’t recommend both venues any higher!

This was a great day to cap off a successful year for CODA, and we’re looking forward to more good times in 2026!
