Coparenting Tip: Communication extends beyond you and your ex partner. Your kids also need to know what’s going on in their lives, when they will see you and when they will see their other parent/carer next.

Section 60CC of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) guides the Court’s assessment of what Parenting Orders would be best for your child, considering your family's particular cirucumstances. It asks what arrangement will best protect and support this child, in this family, on this evidence.

Most schools in NSW go back for Term 4 on Tuesday 13 October 2026. Are you ready?

Who is doing school pick up and drop off? Even if you aren't driving your child to school on Tuesday, are you able to go to your child's school to see them off on their first day of term? Your Parenting Plan or Parenting Order may answer those questions.

If you would like help to interpret your Parenting Plan or Parenting Order, give us a buzz on 1300 444 LAW or book an appointment via our website: https://theseparationplace.com/

Have you heard of the Succession Act? Well, not getting divorced can have financial implications after you pass away. You can be liable for your ex’s bills, so that’s a really big reason to make your divorce official.

To find out more about why you should get a divorce, watch Kelly's blog: https://theseparationplace.com/blog/family-law/why-you-need-to-get-divorced/

What works for you might not work for your neighbour.

Why? Well, because even though you live in the same street and have children of a similar age, you are two different families. Your Parenting Plan or Parenting Order needs to work for your family, not their family.

Parenting Orders and Parenting Plans consider things such as with whom children live, what time the children are to spend with other people, and the allocation of parental responsibility.

Today is the day! Lawyer friends will you be joining us? Kelly is really looking forward to exploring all things Dispute Resolution with Valerie! As you know her mission is to help families stay out of court which will save them from dealing with the emotional and financial toll that court brings to a family ❤️ The Separation Place

There’s more than one pathway to resolution. The skill is knowing which one to use, and when.

On 6 October, LawCademy welcomes Valerie Norton and Kelly Stanford for a practical webinar on the current state of dispute resolution in family law.

Together, they’ll explore:

→ Mediation, arbitration and collaborative practice
→ Where each pathway can add value
→ How to identify the right approach for the matter and client
→ Using dispute resolution strategically (rather than simply as another step in the process)

For practitioners looking to sharpen the way they approach resolution, this is a conversation worth joining.

6 October. 1pm-2pm.

Registration is required to attend this session.
