💙 Board Member Spotlight: Joanne Parisi 💙

We’re so grateful to have Joanne Parisi as part of the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation family. Joining the board just before the world changed in 2020, Joanne has brought calm thinking, heart, and sharp legal insight to the table ever since.

A proud Innisfail local, Joanne is a lawyer and co‑owner of Parisi Foley Law. Her background in problem‑solving and strategic thinking helps guide important decisions that support better health care for our region.

When she’s not supporting the Foundation, Joanne’s world is full of fur babies 🐾, family time, and giving back. From championing local businesses to volunteering with organisations like Cazalys, the AICD local forum, and Animal Care Seniors at Home (where she lovingly looks after Chloe and Daisy), Joanne’s commitment to community runs deep.

Health care matters deeply to Joanne because, as she puts it, we all rely on it at some point in our lives — and everyone in FNQ deserves access to the very best care. One moment that has stayed with her is the incredible generosity shown during COVID, when our community truly rallied to support health care workers and each other.
Looking ahead, Joanne is excited by the Foundation’s opportunities for growth — and when asked her favourite local FNQ spot? Let’s just say AFL got an enthusiastic mention!

So after consulting my vintage letter opener, I can confirm that 20 years ago today I stood nervously in the courtroom, took my oath and had my name admitted to the role of Qld solicitors. A proud moment after many years of study and hard work. Today I’m celebrating by working... Had I realised a day earlier I may have convinced the bosses to swing me an extra holiday 😝.

I’ve had a few messages lately asking if we will have Christmas treats, this year. And the answer is absolutely! They will be released and ready to go by the end of this week 🙌🏻

Everything is handmade by me, and that takes time. I always aim to have everything ready by the start of December, but there’s only so much one person can do. I’ve been flat out working around the clock to get everything done, and can’t wait to share this years collection with you ☺️
